That’s the largest bucket for that machine. 13.5 yds. Coal bucket. This machine has a 27 liter V 12 engine. Four hydraulic pumps and another pump moving two swing motors. It’s fast. It’s efficient. The operator is good at his job.

average time per lorry is less than a minute. that would be around 50-60 lorries per hour if the pace continues like that. and it will be around 400-450 lorries per 8 working hours. its amazing ya the coordination 👍

He is going to end up killing one of those guys in the trucks by putting a rock through the roof of the truck. I can load the trucks just as fast without losing most of it on the ground and throwing those guys around in the trucks. Fuck they are just hwy trucks and they have to drive through all of that shit that he left on the ground i bet they have lots of problems with rocks getting stuck between the duals. Someone needs to put him in one of those trucks and see how he likes it and make him pay for all the damage he is causing to those trucks

Dieter Montanez you need to watch more of this channel. They DO run some haul trucks, and they also run some equipment bigger than this new Cat. The mine is enormous and the coal seams vary in size and location and conditions. As a general statement, it seems like the equipment assigned to a cut reflects all three of those parameters

It’s kind of sad how critical some are of the operator with their presumptive commentary when they in no way know the standing directives under which he is working. It is obviously a high volume operation which places a burden upon the operator in a rather rapid dump and go situation to keep things moving along. As a result things aren’t going to be pretty and likely aren’t meant to be, but product is kept moving at an incredible and seemingly unrelenting pace. Happy not to be in the operator’s seat for 8-12 hours a day at that rate. Enjoyed the video!

Coal is light but the hydraulics of that machine are very quick, for such a large machine. Those trucks are obviously not going over the road, lol.

I always see comments on videos like this where people are shitting on the operator but the way I see it those people might not know what they are talking about. I'm sure that machine is stupid expensive and if its not operating full tilt 100% of the time they are losing money. Spending the time to very carefully drop a load into a truck might cost the company more money then fixing the trucks more often. Its all about cost and the way I see it he has to go this fast because hes got a constant line of trucks waiting on him and if he slows down at all they are going to start pileing up pretty quick.

The problem is the operator is handling half of every other bucket twice, which is just wasting fuel and time. It looks like each truck can haul 1-1/2 buckets, the operator would be more efficient putting the half a bucket he / she spills on the ground every other bucket into the next truck instead.

Seems to me it would be cheaper, and perhaps faster to use a smaller machine. Say a machine with a bucket 75% of this size. 2 full buckets on each truck. Faster, easier on the equipment, and at a much lower cost.

@Grammar jew maybe but again. That's not an operator error that is a higher up error. Not saying there aren't problems and to be honest I really don't know anything about this subject. I can operate a cat 330D but that's the largest machine I've ever used and that was a special occasion. Most the time I'm using a mini ex for electrical work and I can tell you now this guy goes a lot faster than I do. Not really saying much but I feel like he's just doing as he's been instructed to do.

When you can load a truck with 2 buckets you are doing your job. having 2 trucks to load and more waiting in line makes for better production.

He has over spill because of the size of the trucks he's doing very well keeping up with turn around time plus he was probably told to load heavy do to the size of the trucks to be more efficient bigger excavators have to be handled with care one small mistake can destroy one of those trucks or kill someone plus with bigger buckets you have to try to spread the material throughout for even hauling and dumping he is doing a fine job
