@@Jonjs99 no just stupid people think that a micron or 2 worth of debris will go through the engine unfiltered. Which is ridiculous in itself it's clean oil. Trust me it's fine to do. It's just something someone will try to preach on you to sound knowledgeable about vehicles

That engine was screwed before they even finished. Why would you be doing a complete rebuild on the dustiest ground possible? At least throw a tarp down or something. This is the mechanical equivalent of drinking 100 proof whisky every weekend during your pregnancy.

Я в них верю, ещё чуть-чуть и будут лучшими слесарюгами в мире.😉 Они и так уже по своим методам ремонта превосходят многих. Не боятся бороться с железками и у них это получается.

All the western mechanics and fitters having a coronary because of the conditions . These boys get the job done , they are applying measured torque and the mating surfaces are clean and lubed , not crying because the snap-on van is late .

I personally don't own anything from snapon, but I will comment on the dirtiness of the conditions. Just walking around and kicking up dirt will get dust inside the engine. You can be careful, but you can't control the wind blowing. Now, most of that dirt will work its way into the oil filter, but it's still going to cause some premature wear.

They’ve done more successful rebuilds than you ever will, that’s for sure. The reason motors run on oil is the same reason that dust has literally zero effect on the motor’s lifespan. Plus, it was laid in the dust on DISASSEMBLY.

@@Unduplicatable Dust absolutely has an effect on engine lifespan. Most manufacturers even print in their owners manual that operating a vehicle frequently in dusty conditions is considered severe duty, and should have the engine oil changed about twice as often as normal.

@@TonyTheTruckGuy And you must be the only 15+ year diesel tech *I don’t watch on KZfaq* because every guy I know in real life or watch on KZfaq doesn’t cry over a little dirt! It’s easy to rinse off with fuel/oil worst case, anyway… Trust me man, I used to be a little frickin’ pessimistic kid. Any time I rebuilt a computer or did anything mechanical on a car or truck, EVERYTHING had to be absolutely perfectly clean and done right. Now, I’ve learned it makes almost no difference.

The guys are excellent mechanics, they just need a good roof covered area out this sand dust to do this, also not welding cranks, obviously new cranks are expensive but replacing the broken one by a new one it's the right job!

На тепловозном моторе его проще тупо заменить на живой. Потому что литьё там треснет ещё быстрее.

Oh, they're learning! A torque wrench and didn't show that they welded the crankshaft back togheter, which is probably what they did, but can say they put a new/salvaged one in there. The only mistake I spotted was the oil filter filling. There is some controversy regarding prefilling it, but I most often hear it helps on big engines, which is the case. The inside tube is the filtered output. ALWAYS fill it from the outside. Oil comes with some dirt from the can already. If you add it through the oil cap, it goes straight into the oil pan to then get pumped into the filter, so there's no problem. But if you want to pre-fill the filter, you're adding that dirt to your bearings and moving parts.

Incorrect. You can find hopefully still on KZfaq the full-length video not these idiotic short clips of video. There you can see how they bring the engine in open it up and see that the crankshaft is broken and then repair it.

Great mistake,Engine oil filter is filled with oil in the center of the filter,Which any dirt might go to the engine crankshaft bearing.Correct fill must be around the filter in order to filter before going the bearings.

You are absolutely correct, however the way this engine was rebuilt I wouldn’t be concerned with dirt in the oil filter as you can see it was built outside in the dirt and the piston rings were clogged

Англичане ружья кирпичом не чистят😅 каменс убогие моторы продали нам лицензию на выпуск движков камаз. Ремонтных размеров нет только замен деталей ни шлифовки плюс любит качественное масло а у нас подделки много так что вуаля господа а вот катапилеры в ремонте третий размер и подгруппы все есть

They are seriously working with torque specs, if the crankshaft was repaired or used under specs is part of the reality of the country economy. Good job!!
