Good on the husband for not being an overly-protective jerk. It was refreshing seeing him clearly a little uncomfortable, which is perfectly fine, but still not inciting confrontation. It's cool that the guy was able to meet the girl in the pictures and it was just a good time!

Aimee was SO sweet and charitable with him. Her character actually matches her beauty on the outside!

I got catfished, ended up being a 40something year old Pakistani man who was about 5ft. I didn't want to be rude, so I stayed in the frozen yogurt shop with him, while he talked about his "dj career".. His breath smelled like dirty diapers, and he blamed it on his toothpaste lol.. . When I got ready to drive home I noticed he was following me back to my place, so I drove to Barnes & noble. Sat inside & waited for him to drive off😟

poor nev..i bet that was hard as hell for him..meeting his dream woman, but she was already married and didnt even know who he was..thats killer..but at least something good came from it

You can tell that Nev still had feelings for this imaginary person at the time of filming this. It's such a shame it happened at all. Even thinking about the movie sends chills down my spine. It's amazing how strong delusions can be.

I kind of pity Nev cause even knowing that Megan didn't really exist and that Aimee is actually married with somebody else, he still got very excited to meet her...

I catfished myself. For years I thought I was a super attractive dude with a great body and a high paying job. Turns out I was a short out of shape hairy guy who lived in his moms basement. Wild.

I met a girl online on OKC and we began emailing for months, sending eachother pictures and then making videos for eachother...After months of communicating everyday, I bought a plane ticket to Houston, where she lived, and it was expansive since I live in France. I went to go visit her and at the airport I was walking around trying to find her, then I felt a tap on my shoulder and I looked back and there she was....the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. I spent two weeks in Houston, we fell in love and I proposed to her, I had to come back to France although I almost stayed in the US to be with her....once I came back we were thinking about what to do, she had a job, a car, and friends/family there and I had my mom in France and didnt just want to leave her alone. So, she decided to move with me to France, she sold her car, left most of her belongings, and quit her job just to come be with me....now, we live together and I know we were meant to be for eachother. If it wasnt for OKC, I dont think we would have ever crossed eachother from 5,000 miles away.....I was one of the lucky ones :)

You see a pic but you fall for the sweet words and the truth you think you are being told. The pic is only a small part of it. Good things have come from this for him and now he can help others.

I've never seen this before. This really explains why Nev, specifically, is the face of this whole catfish thing. I actually really like this, that this has happened to him and he decided that he wanted to help others who fear they could be getting catfishes. It's actually just super genuine and makes me have a lot of respect for Nev.

This is actually VERY real and you can see it in his eyes if you watch the entire movie you can see the actual pain. This happens to people every single day and it's actual a very sad story.

Am I the only one that is thinking of an entirely different idea to get a guy? What if you're a really beautiful girl who is using a profile of an ugly girl instead of her regular cute face and you talk to a not so bad looking guy and persuade him to go JUST for a date and nothing else? The reason for posting an ugly picture is to try not to attract unwanted guys only looking for a hot girl to take advantage of. Imagine the surprised reaction from the guy when he realizes the girl in real life is actually very beautiful. Does anyone know if any of these stories exist? Has it happened before?

My heart just broke... just like when Nev saw Angela. I mean,he's trying not to show his disappointment...but look into his eyes,he's broke inside. I really hope he can find true love or at least something real.

Wow.. she's really attractive. Physically you've got the eyes, thick lips, great body, and really long hair for pulling. But personality wise, she's also down to earth and has a really good head on her shoulders. Nev is probably even more bummed now that he met her and saw how great she is. BTW - Her husband was trying to be a good sport. But you could tell he was a bit defensive and bugged at times. Especially at the end when he hurried into the airport and made Aimee chase after him..LOL

I got catfished and ended up with a 50 y/o man who lived with his 77 year old mother, he worked at a used car dealership and when we finally met, he came out of the hotel lobby standing 5'7" and weighing 400#. I was shocked. He told me he was a member of a gym in Portland Oregon, was a successful executive with Lithia Honda, owned his own home and was my age 40(at the time). I learned a huge lesson; EVERYBODY LIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Abby would be ten years older now. I wonder how it affected her. Her oddest daughter doesn't seem involved aside being inspiration. Angela and Nev ironically kept friendly. I hope she never catfished again. Seemed they were just sad. Still horrible to do to someone. Nev is such a nice person so glad he's married and happy.

I was catfished in 2013. This boy who was supposedly 17 followed me on Twitter and we started talking from then. We mainly spoke on kik that gave me the chance to send pictures and receive them, he told me he had cancer and that his mum was dead but a few days later on his Instagram he posted a picture of his "mum" and his caption stated it was his mum's wedding that day. After I figured it out I felt upset as I felt so dependent on this boy, when I approached him he told me to die and even tried to get the police on me. He really hurt me but now I hope I can help people finding out catfishes in the future😊

A month ago I got on a plane and met the man I fell in love with online over two years ago and it was actually him. its really not hard to tell if someone is who they say they are. if a person refuses to Snapchat you or facetime you then there is probably some weirdness going on.

I was catfished for 2 years and I recently found that out. Today I talked to the guy behind the pictures through Facebook..

For anyone saying the movie is fake, you can clearly see the pain in Nevs eyes...he was really heart broken. Also "Megan" was not lonley and looking for love online... she was introduced to Nev by her supposed little sister, "abby". (I think that was her name)

I love Nev he’s such a handsome man and this was totally embarrassing the first time for him but he made a successful show.

I just saw this documentary on Dutch tv and I thought it was stunning and very confronting, as, more or less, the same thing happened to me. So many things were the same, it was amazing. I have to respect Nev for handling it the way he did. I know I couldn't.
