About 2 hours into the flight the cabin crew told passengers to close the window blinds as other passengers wanted to sleep. I explained to the stewardess that It was my first time on the A350 & I wanted to film as much of the flight as possible, she insisted that I close my window shade & then a passenger sitting in the aisle seat in my row also told me to close it
So apologies for lack of in-flight footage

Watching this with headphones, and eyes closed makes me feel like I'm there. I woke up thinking I had luggage in an overhead compartment. Something about that sound, is just hypnotizing.

25:36 suprised to see a 737 west jet over in the uk. Didnt think they flew 737's across the atlantic.

Excellent video. What happened to eye shades? Hand those out to people who wish to sleep; or those who wish to sleep could have purchased eye shades before travelling. If you book a window seat, you should expect to be able to look through the window whenever you want.

think if u paid for your seat , and in many instances additional charges apply for window seats you should do as u please with your seat

Wow another long one Nathan...I've done 45 minutes of it now...will probably get the rest done by Wednesday ☺ Looked a great day for flying. Qatar always close their shades automatically on their Dreamliners and it's locked so you can't open them. Did you feel any of the health benefits Airbus claim? I'm not sure if I felt any different when I flew Finnairs A350 or Qatars B787. Hope all is well?.

19bootsy68 Im good thanks mark, yup another long video, tbh mark I prefer to make longer videos, as I want to give my subscribers the feeling they are on the flight. Longer videos are the way forward, I didn't feel any different after arriving in Hongkong. And airbus said its quieter than the A380....its not the A380 is in a entirely different league altogether when it comes to quietness. When are you away again ? Im possible going to at the end of the month to meet up with my friend from Newcastle who I haven't seen in over a year

777cpt A couple of mine a few years ago were 18 plus minutes long. I think I'd GoPro if I done such a long video...it's a pity non longhaul travellers couldn't see how boring a longhaul flight can be in a video ☺ I just got back from Malaga this morning...got home, changed and went straight to work...I've been up since 4am UK time...I can't concentrate. I'm going home...bad idea to come to work I think.

Flight was fine, food was ok,, IFE was good, A350 not as quiet as the A380

Adds interest if you film the catering/bar service/cabin interior....not much interest in endless cloud cover...

The hotel i stayed at travelodge central for the other video :) it's about 1 mile from the beginning of the runway so need a 20x zoom like mine. OMG they shouldn't do it at that time, no other airline does it at that time. They do it west bound but like when it's almost time to sleep anyway and when i was on finnair the cabin crew said i was ok on their bangkok flight because the departure is before 12pm so they won't close the blinds.

Thanks for the info bud much appreciated, yeah they should'nt have done it but they did and ruined my first experience on the A350, I'd love to fly on it again but not with Cathay. Have you any travel plans for this year ? spotting in Hongkong ?

I did my flight on this now. Funnily enough i did go to sleep at 3pm going out because i tried to change time zone before i got there so that i'd have more time to do things

Man, those business class seats suck. You're so far from the window that you won't be able to look out during landing and takeoff! I'd rather go to economy any day...and save a crap ton of money in the process. P.S. And yeah...being forced to close your shade is outrageous. Doesn't the airline provide complimentary sleeping masks?
