Nothing Shovel Knight about it aside from one move. More like Metroid meshed with... Melee Metroid? Not QUITE as explotative as Metroid though. Game is pretty linear where the exploration comes into play when looking for upgrades and secrets. Large map with many hallways basically. Still a good game though if you like challenging ass bosses and upgrade hunting.

I've been literally addicted to this game since its release. The game play, the lore of the world and a psychotically addictive soundtrack is well worth it, considering the price.

I just impulse-purchased the physical copy because I thought the graphics looked cool (you know-the old-fashioned way). I don’t usually impulse-purchase Switch games, but I’m so glad I went into this one blind. This game looks awesome. I’m so stoked to play it.

It looks cool but maybe riding on Shovel Knight's coattails a little too far. The developer seems to have a lot of talent regardless.

Developer is a really nice guy, and put a lot of work into this game. It's not exactly like Shovel Knight. Shovel Knight wasn't a metroidvania, Cathedral is.

@@SeekerLancer Nice. I have been playing it all day, lol. I got up to one part that had a lot of puzzles. You could see it's it's own thing, and not a copy of shovel knight. Glad you're liking it. Wish a lot more ppl would buy it and give it a chance so we could get more from this developer. One of the best metroidvania's I ever played.

If a tough as nails Metroidvania with a quirky yet attractive cast and story sounds appealing, pick this indie up. It borrows from some top sellers; but, stands well on its own. For flying under the radar and being an indie, this title has a ton of content…100% will certainly consume at or over 20 hours…worth it!

I've been sick of the psudo 8 bit style since Shovel knight tbh. I can't stand the look now. But I do enjoy me a nice Metroid Vania. Idk maybe ill give it a look.

I like the style. Prefer 16 bit though, that look is just timeless while 8 bit does look a bit more rough

I can understand, cause the retro look has been done a lot, but personally, I can never get enough of these metroidvania/action platformer pixel art games.

SO much fun with this as a beta tester! Deffinately worth a buy! Shovel Knight? Meh, not at all. Cathedral feels som much better to play.

I really like this type of game but the character sprite is too large for the tiles which makes the collision look wonky. A real shame but I'll wait for 50% off or more.
