Something you should know about extra credits is that they will every now and then make up one or two things which they later address in a video with the same name except with “lies” labeled at the end of it, and I love your personal theories, but at this point in time we have no proof if Peter was ordered to be killed by her.

slavery is the greatest enemy to economic progress and industry. Slavery encourages complacency and lack of innovation. The Roman Empire could've had the Industrial Revolution 2000 years earlier but no one saw the need to use steam devices when they could just have slaves do everything. Not having a massive slave population for labor means people have to start thinking how to to get as much efficiency and production with limited labor, thus innovation and industry. Russia's serf issue is a major reason it took sooooo long to industrialize.

"What an idiot." - Yeah, that's hereditary royalty for you. Ekaterina had the church AND the military behind her already and barely needed to push to get the people to her side... ridiculously easy coup. Plus she already WAS the Empress of Russia. It was merely a power shift from husband to wife. Ah, the wonderful times of reparations... the second world war ended that rather decisively. Reparations just create resentment. Leading inevitably to the next war. Serfdom is slavery, period.
