If we dont verbalise labelling the specimen and sending the latter to the lab immediately as it is still part of the criteria, will that be fine? Also 8 minutes is provided here, if we are finished in 5 minutes (or with any other station) is it okay to end the station granting that you have performed, done, added everything you are expected to?

Are we allowed to put the dirty wipes that are used to clean the port inside the tray? Or need to bin straight in the clinical waste after cleaning the port?

Hi, why not? That is the purpose of the tray! You can also bin straight away. It will depend on the setup of the exam centre. good luck

Hii If there is no urine present in catheter we need to manipulate it right? In criteria it says to change gloves after manipulation before cleaning the port . Is that right?

Hi Milan, you may ask but its not part of the criteria. Pain assessment will be a separate station especially if you are bound to take the new osce

hi emer may i know what is your source in performing the skills?is it royal marsden?

Hi Clarissa, before the source was solely from Royal Marsden but the for new toc it has different sources cited by Alpha plus. Current Toc( legacy 2014) you can access all info through Moodle, nile or blackboard depending on your test centre and once you book your exams. For the new toc all available on the internet www.nmc.org.uk/registration/joining-the-register/toc/toc-2021/resources/ Hope this helps and good luck

Hello Emer, is it unnecessary to check their ID wristband at the beginning and when u r returned from the scene after getting the equipment? since lots of skill stations didnt mark that as one of the criteria

Hey Soey, checking the id band once is enough. There are skills stations that you are no longer required to check the id band - the reason behind that is according to the test centre is that you will be assessed properly during assessment station. Proper id check must be done for skills involving medications- im,sc etc. hope that helps

Left out key points that can lead to a fail. Gloves have to be changed after clamping.

Hi, please take note that the video was uploaded 9 months ago, and during that time period, lots of changes and updates were made in the marking criteria for Legacy. They change it every 2-3 months. We just followed the marking criteria while filming at that time. Please refer to the current marking criteria if there are changes you have observed from the video and what you have on hand. On your exam the assessor might tell you not to discard the clamp. But since its a pointed object you need to discard it in the sharps bin. Good luck

Hello Emer, I would like to confirm if the use of gloves is only once from the start up to the end because some review centers tend to change alot? Is that critical?

Hi Ian for this skills-only once is enough. Wear gloves if you are preparing medications, cleaning the dressing trolley and performing the actual skill Gloves not necessary for Aim and pefr,. Hope that helps
