I think this is the reason why we pray for souls in purgatory. Hope someone , someday pray for me too

Moved by Fathers analogy of the hiking trail to the passage of the narrow path leading to heaven. The comments that there are risks and bumps on the narrow path but much beauty as well struck me. It is important to remember the beauty and the final destination.

Father- I love the road analogy- makes it real. What did Our Blessed Mother say at Fatima about this? Mary warns of souls falling into hell like snowflakes, but then commands us to pray "Lead all souls to heaven". So we must pray🙏

This made me think of a sermon I heard a 15 16 years ago by a priest. He said when he was sent to the parish he's in he said people Sito father we have this great Supermarket here and everyone told him oh get guess what you live near the great Supermarket have you seen this have you seen that. He said could we be as excited about being Catholics he said everyone was excited about being near the new supermarket and thought that this would be the most important thing to me and yet being your Jesus doesn't seem to get the same accolades. He said could we could we be as excited Jesus as we are about the new supermarket. And that sermon is always stayed with me

Thanks Father Cristino and Ken. We need our Holy Mother Mary to Intercede and Pray for us sinners and we need the Mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to save us from final damnation.

Jesus said to Saint Faustina that he calls each soul three times before they die. I trust there are often miracles in the midst of those three calls. That’s why we must always pray for anyone who dies.

It is always interesting to know about life in eternity, heaven or hell. The key here is to live a life in accordance to the will of God and then everything will be the way God has planned it to be. Thank you Fr. Cristino and Ken.

I love the question! How many people will go to hell, and I wonder how many people are in purgatory? Since we cannot know, we continue to pray for those in purgatory! 🙏

I finally got around to further watching, and finishing watching - this excellent Catholic Orthodox video, Ken 👍! I am reminded in my heart and mind practically every day about this between the smooth broad easy downhill highway and the narrow, constricted, difficult, up mountain path, but this video definitely additionally helps!

Well we just need to refer to Matthew 7:13 regarding matter on whether or not many are in hell: 13 Enter by the narrow gate, since the road that leads to destruction is wide and spacious, and many take it; 14: but it is a narrow gate and a hard road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Many will fall in Hell for their unrepentance and unaccepting Jesus's Holy life. (How could they not love Him? It is because they chose not to know Him during their lifetime.) Many will go to Pergatory. Those who were imperfect must be perfected to get into heaven. Only Holy souls enter. Lastly, the gates of heaven are open to the few that are truly holy and truly repentant. It is our job to be holy on earth just like the early disciples who loved Jesus and followed Him wherever He went. We must keep trying to be good and for God to enter those pearly gates. Oh, sweet heaven, let us save the most souls we possibly can during each of our lifetimes! Together, us faithful-hearted can save millions, maybe more!

I generally interpet the narrow is gate as the spiritual life as a whole because its a hard path to follow and very few take it but that doesn't mean those who refuse the call and or fail on the path will burn for eternity. I slide between Bishop Barron's hope in all that will hopefully be saved to David Benttely Hart, C.S. Leis, George Macdonald in the belief that eventually all will be saved through a period of purgation which seemed to be the belief of St. Gregory of Nyssa and Origen.

Since God is outside of time he has foreseen everything. I just know that at the end of time there will be more saved on his right than those condemned on his left.

Try reading 'The Little Number of Those who are Saved' by Saint Leonard of Port Maurice - will scarily tell you just how very few are saved :(

Thanks Ken. This is definitely a topic to ponder. I believe that only God knows who will go to heaven and who will go to hell. Man does not know the final count. God's ways are not man's ways. He is the final judge, not man. "The last will be first, and the first will be last.". But in my own opinion, I do feel that only a few will enter heaven, not many. But when you consider the billions of souls, what is considered a few? This is for God to determine who He chooses to live with Him for eternity, as He is the only one who truly knows us. I just hope I am one of the few, one of His chosen! 🙏. One thing for sure, we will all find out one day!!! Blessings to you and Janelle. 🙏💕

Many people have had near death experiences and went to hell. A couple of them said that people were falling into hell like a heavy rain shower or snowstorm.

Judge not lest thee be judged thyself, and please pray for everyone that has died before us as we will all be there someday.

Both of these are true...he who prays will likely go to heaven, and most are going to hell. Most do not pray. That is a sad reality. I can have hope that any given person ends up saved, but I cannot reasonably hope that all (or even most) are heading to heaven. How many commit mortal sins without any intent to amend their lives? I cannot but think that I cannot be surprised that when so many work so hard to go to hell, most will succeed.

The point of if we want to be saved..is similar to the Q Jesus asked the crippled man if he wants to be healed.. True that we must decide if we want to so we do the works we are told to... (beatitudes)

I take a middle position on this. I think the few and the many passage is primarily a warning to those 1st century Jews. That said, I don’t think it’s easy to get to heaven. I think many people will end up in hell. But because I think the Catholic faith will eventually come to dominate and sanctify the world for tens of thousands of years…. I believe that by the end of time those in heaven will outnumber those in hell by far. But I think we’re still in the early days of history… and as our world is currently, we are advertising sin and making it harder to be holy. We should create a world where holiness is encouraged. And I believe that world will come. That’s why I believe “many will be saved”. Not because it’s easy to get to heaven - but because I believe the Church will conquer and Christianize the world.

Hello! A thought came to my mind as I listened to you: maybe Jesus meant: "too" many (go to hell) and "too" few (go to Heaven), as even if only one of His beloved is lost, it causes Him great grief...

Some people call Mary "queen of heaven" which is a name only used in the book of Jeremiah(chapter 7) and it's used to describe a false god.

"strait is the way that leadeth to life: and few there are that find it" --- Meaning Christ alone walked the strait and narrow, and He therefore is "the savior of the all men, specially those that believe" (1 Timothy 4). "Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?... Who is this King of glory?" (Psalm 24) "I have made him thy lord, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants; and with grain and wine have I sustained him: and what shall I do now unto thee, my son? And Esau said unto his father, Hast thou but one blessing, my father?" (Genesis 27) All men can be saved, but hell is a real possibility. This is a paradox we cannot unravel. Fear God therefore, for it may be that you alone are hell's only resident.

ST. POPE JOHN PAUL II: “Can God, who loves man so much, permit the man who rejects him to be condemned to eternal torment? The silence of the church is, therefore, the only appropriate position for Christian faith. Even when Jesus says of Judas, the traitor, “It would be better for that man if he had never been born” (Mt. 26:24) his words do not allude for certain to eternal damnation.”

The implication of the above discussion is that most people are damned. So if you are an agnostic, even you are not a bad person, you are damned. Most peop[e are never going to be good enough. This cannot be what Christ meant.

We are commanded by Messiah that, “...repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.” (Luke 24:47). In other words, we are supposed to preach the gospel that came out of Jerusalem and not preach the gospel that came out of Antioch, or Rome, or England, or New York, or Chicago, etc. By the time the gospel got to Antioch it had already been perverted as we read, “...And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.” (Acts 11:26). The problem with this is that YHWH spoke of a people called by His name (Deuteronomy 28:10; 2 Chronicles 7:14; Isaiah 43:6, 7; Daniel 9:19; Amos 9:12; Acts 15:17). YHWH did not choose the name “Christian” for Himself. The people of Antioch chose that name and all the so called main denominations of today embrace that name “Christian” for themselves. When Peter and Paul preached the gospel they quote the prophet Joel, “Whosoever shall call on the name of YHWH shall be saved.” (Joel 2:32; Acts 2:21; Rom. 10:13). The English word "Lord" is not a translation for the name YHWH but is a substitution. I ask you, how many of the church fathers and so called main denominations of today preach that gospel? None of them. Absolutely none! Paul makes it very clear that the end result of him preaching the gospel was that the people would call on the name YHWH. He says in (Rom. 10:14,15), The preachers are sent. They preach. The people hear. The people believe. The people call on the name YHWH (Rom. 10:13). I ask you, how many of the church fathers and so called main denominations of today preach that gospel? None of them. Absolutely none! It took only one generation after the death of Joshua for the children of Israel to forget the mighty works of YHWH which He had worked through Moses and Joshua and to began to serve the elohim of the heathen people around them (Judges 2:7-13). It took only one generation! The most important thing that I learned in life is about the mikvah for the bride of Christ. A mikvah is a pool of water used for immersion. It has been used for thousands of years in the Bible and it is still being used today by both Jews and Christians. However, Christian denominations have turned baptism into an initiation for lifetime membership into their particular denomination. However, most believers know that Christ is coming back for His bride. But I just found out last year that every Jewish bride immerses herself in a mikvah before her marriage ceremony. Therefore, the reason I am telling you and my family and friends about this is that the next time you are in a pool of water immerse yourself as a mikvah to be part of the Bride of Christ calling on the name of Yahweh (Jesus = Yahoshuah = Yahweh salvation) for the remission of sins. .... .... ....

Why bother with few or many go to heaven. What matters most is how you yourself will be saved or otherwise!
