Recently, The awesome people over at PETKIT sent us over one of their new unreleased PURA MAX Automatic litter boxes. This box is great. It's changing how my wife and I handle really the only... "Bad" part of being a cat owner.

Update. Hi, I received my pura max on June 17 and all has been working great. I kept one regular litter box available while they got use to the pura max. I let the Regular box get filled up before scooping while keeping the pm litter fresh with litter deodorizer. After a week and a half I was able to remove the extra litter box. I really like being able to see which cat has used it by their individual weight with the app notifications. I have 5 cats by the way, ranging from 1 year to 15 years old. I also built a little platform the same size as the included mat so the older cats can climb in. So far so good. I’ll update after my first full disassembly and cleaning

Wow, that's an unexpected but efficient, well-made and very funny video (even more as I have 2 cats 😆) the product seems very clean (lol, clean), I would maybe consider it I were in house/appartment without any garden. Great video 👍

As someone who also had four cats and now has 3 geriatric fur babies, I'd like to point out that although this machine is clearly state of the art, they should consider making stairs for elder kitties. We had to cut our boxes in half under a vets recommendations because now all of our cats have arthritis and climbing into a box was a bit of a struggle to them. Other than that I would love it if I wasn't a broke millennial stuck in the southern hemisphere, where shipping costs ruin everything (if there's worldwide shipping options at all), and if I could get my hands into one of these for my cats.

Fair comments. My wife and I actually designed a stair case that our box sits on for our two 13 year old cats.

I have one cat using two toilet, my cat took about 3 months before she started to use pura max, and that was just peeing, most of the pooping was done in the old toilet

lmaoo as a Teyvat lore lover who loves your videos and also a cat lover who happens to be looking for automatic litter boxes, this is the best coincidence. I was also looking at this litter box but I might get the Pura X.

Has your unit froze (until you unplug or reset) mid clean due to falsely sensing a cat inside? Or began a clean cycle with a cat inside? I have the pura X (I ordered this unit too) and I recommend having it some place you can peek on it. Mine worked flawlessly for the first few months but then began freezing due to a sensor error and my 4 cats were without a bathroom until I discovered it. The app does not alert you to the unit being stuck in the same position or if the unit gets unplugged.

My Pura Max problem is urine found deposited at the top of the base unit. One more problem is while on cleaning cycle, it constantly stop for reason cat is using the toilet despite no cat inside it.

Any luck with the urine? I disassembled mine today because of an aweful smell in only 2 weeks time and I found puddle of pee in the base part of the unit.

@@michaelhinchey I sealed all the holes/openings which might contribute to the problem with adhesive silicone sealant. Problem is not as bad as before.

Company is in China and has no US support/contact. Number on website goes to a multi-distribution warehouse in FL. All emails go to china. This explains why there is no physical address listed on the site. Just got all this from a warehouse worker. This explains why I am having so many issues getting a refund (two weeks now)...if you are thinking about buying this, please do not. The mat in the bottom can be cut by a cats claw and urine will leak down into the base...and the issues go on and on...again, find another product and avoid all the problems I am going through.

I have 4 fully clawed cats who have used this box for nearing 6 months, and have have zero issues with it. HOWEVER, I do still have an ear with Petkit and may be able to reach out to them on your behalf. Due to my experience with the product I still feel very confident in a positive recommendation, and mind you I’ve never received a dollar of compensation from them. Just the box itself, and if it were problematic I’d be happy to say as much. Do you have discord? If so reach out to me there so that I can see about running you up the chain.

SO! I did a little research and some people have had issues with the mat inside the puramax. That said, they have this page: facebook.com/groups/1034555420727582/ Its a facebook support page where you can report these issues. They've been issuing out replacement mats, (it may even be a different type of mat i think) to people who've had issues or just dont like that one. All that said if you'd want to pursue a refund that might be your best avenue, but i would try this for sure!

I just got one of these with no wait time. I had looked earlier and the delivery dates were always a month out. Mine has a new improved bottom mat and the notifications are in pounds. I have 5 cats that will be sharing this. Hopefully they all move over to this new box so I can stop scooping and get rid of the last of the old style. Thanks for the review. Any problems or recommendations?

How was cleaning the box? How about adding litter to the box? Is there a big difference between the Pura Max and Pura X?

I have both and Pura Max doesnt have the self emptying litter feature, so it is a bit of chore to pour the litter out. Otherwise everything else the Pura Max is better

Start cleaning cycle. When it gets to the open part at the top hit pause. Fill with litter. Then resume when done.

On average every 2 to 3 days. Fortunately you can use grocery bags as the liners for the bin which helps to reduce the cost of having to clean it as frequently as we do

Hmm hard to tell if this is a legit review or you just got paid by petkit and did review with little to no use just to get the video up quickly for them. Almost the entire video the litter box is empty and the cats are playing in it. The packaging still on/accessories nicely posed for camera. I think I see only one quick shot with litter actually in it. Great video and all, it was creative but I will do more research before considering this one.
