It makes sense. All the other musicals/ operas / plays are about humans focusing on themselves for 2 hours and more.

@@wollow2102 I'm a teen that grew up on Grease, The Sound Of Music, Rocky Horror and Les Miz with some old-old-school musicals sprinkled throughout, and I'm a fan of Hamilton(and I also hate BMC with a passion). The rhyme and flow is amazing, the beats are sick and the story is told beautifully. I really think you're just living á la "popular thing is bad, less popular thing is amazing" when it comes to musicals. "I wish people my age appreciated works of the past more." Isn't a good look on any type of fan, it just unnecessarily limits your taste in musicals and you'll eventually find you were sleeping on amazing works of art and wondering "how did I only find out about this now?"

@@wollow2102 well, to be frank, Cats is in no way a musical made to be liked by a lot of people. It's weird and unusual and Andrew knew this when writing this musical. Mainstream doesn't like stuff that isn't relatable(at first sight) and Cats has nothing to latch on to for the masses. You also have to take into account that teens that have been on the internet enough more often than not have a distaste for furries. And to anyone else but a musical fan, Cats is just a bunch of furries.

Most noticeably, Deuteronomy doesn't have a beard, Grizabella looks way younger to the point of being almost unrecognisable, and Rum Tum Tugger has shorter hair and doesn't have the big shoulder mane. I'm not gonna pretend to know how time works in this musical, cause Gus goes from being an adult to being very elderly for the duration of just one song- by the end of Skimbleshanks the Railway Cat he's back to normal- but aside from those weird moments, I do think you're right and it's supposed to be all in one night

Grizabella is a succesful glamour cat who went from riches to rags and is rejected by the rest of the Jellicle's. Once a year under the full moon, all the Jellicle's come together to celebrate in the Jellicle Ball, where at dawn Deuteronomy chooses one cat to be reborn and live a new life in the Heavy Side Layer. "Memories" is the song about the moon light, Grizabella's old life and her dream to be reborn, and at dawn Deuteronomy chooses Grizabella to live a new life in the Heavy Side Layer, and all the Jellicle's finally touch her to learn what happiness really is. According to Andrew Lloyd Webber the moment the white Cat touches Grizabella is the most pivotal moment in the play.

Maybe it was out of context. I had no friend to tell me what they loved about it. I watched it on VHS alone. Next day a co-worker asked me if I liked it and if he should see it. I was like, "well, if you're interested in seeing a bunch of people dressed up as cats, singing nonsense and crawling around the stage in leotards, you might like it."

이효령 His mane and his wig are both put on after this number (kind of like Baby Grizz) so its kind of like a costume suprise thing, and the audience isn't looking at the same thing the entire time, and his appearance is different. Also, with all the dancing, it's probably really hard and hot to dance with. 🙂
