Why catch rabbits?
Rabbit shooting and ferreting is a legal activity in line with UK animal welfare laws. They are designed to remove rabbits, cute but a major pest, from agricultural land, where they dig up ground causing hazards to livestock and they damage crops. Both ferreting and shooting are more selective than the alternative, poisoning rabbits. Rabbit hunting is also social, involving groups of ferret owners or shooters, who go out at weekends and have little or no representation in other media. Plus rabbit meat is lean, healthy and local sourced. Give it a try.

Just subbed. Got 2 lovley gems myself this year. Love them to bits. Hope to work mine to help put towards a good diet and also valuable excise and enrichment. Bony hob you got there to buddy. My hob is a sandy and my jil is a milkmouth sable. She is to dam cute lol

I loved having ferrets! They are a wonderful pet or working companion, I had a Jill and hob that were as tame as any dog! They are long dead now but I’d warn anybody thinking of buying a ferret that if your not willing to spend a couple of hours with them every day then don’t bother because they are very intelligent and need plenty of stimulation! In return you’ll get a wonderful pet

I've used ferrets to flush Cottontails out of burrows. The one thing I found, was the Males tend to be a little too large and are sometimes capable of HOLDING the rabbit.

I love this channel .Good honest lads with a passion for ferreting. I keep a fiew myself here in ireland but unfortunately rabbits are gone very scarce

My Vern was as big and Shirley was a small little girl who always had 9 kits each litter. Absolutely muss Vern, Shirley not so much. Vern was a house pet an Shirley was our worker for rats and mice. He was just too fat lol Beautiful creatures they are. After Vern I rescued fi my son, Chubbles. Sadly I had to give him to another rescue home as I was moving and couldn't take him. I worked for NY childhood veterinarian and I had Ver descended. He told me that was as nasty as descenting a skunk lol

My jill bolted 13 on her self the other day and none of the holes they bolted where netted because they was deep in the brambles and I didn’t mean to let her go down into that set 🤣

Nice to see you have some rabbits left in the UK. In the Netherlands I guess that 98% of wild rabbits have died because of myxomatosis and RHD. I read somewhere that American rabbits (cottontails) susceptible to myxomatosis. In the north of Italy cottontail rabbits were released in the sixties, and the numbers are growing there.

I used to hunt rabbits with my uncles and cousins whenever l went to my grandma's village back in lndia. We do not have farrets in lndia, we would chase them with the hounds.

@@jungliethey are not related. Mongoose are members of the Herpestes genus, while ferrets are members of the Mustela genus

@@bikramjeetsidhu9749 I took my name from the good junglie charas in kulu valley many years ago baba. My father was a top pigeon breeder & racer too funnily. I love to eat them myself, the breast is better than sirloin steak.
