The 43rd Annual Quechee Hot Air Balloon, Craft and Music Festival made its return on Father's Day weekend as the longest running balloon festival in New England. What started with six balloons and a few musicians playing on the village green bandstand in 1978 has grown to become one of the state's premier entertainment events. Now run by the Hartford Area Chamber of Commerce with the help from about 100 volunteers, this year's event drew 16 balloons, regionally popular musicians on stage, food trucks, dancers, over 50 craft artisans, a kids zone, and disk catching dogs that amazed the audience with their tricks.
