@@bugzpudding That's probably what the real reason is because the laws say that they have to do that. Most likely because there are (or seem to be) too many people who are fragile snowflakes who have no desire to be held accountable for their actions, so these laws that essentially force them to take accountability and prevent even further overloading the court system with frivolous lawsuits, alleging police misconduct and false arrest, those laws and guidelines have necessarily been instituted. The only thing is (and I may be wrong with this) some of the field sobriety tests are almost impossible to execute without being seen as "failures", even when the suspect is stone cold sober.

I was driving home from iowa and stopped at Mac Donald’s for lunch, the asked me to wait in the drive thru parking lot, several vehicles came and went! I went in and asked for my order, they apologized that it didn’t get made! I asked for a refund and they gave me my money and my order free! Either there were actually none, or the battery was dead and he couldn't physically remove it (it's made to be as difficult as possible to remove, so if you are fleeing and can't remove it, you just keep it)
