I worked for 15+ years in Arnhem Land, never once had to be welcomed to country........unfortunately these "ceremonies" are nothing more than commercial activities today. I find this very annoying as actual traditions are being pushed aside for monetary gain. Not blaming this channel as you have no choice but to follow the "rules" in place today.

I find it interesting in my travels that not many of us white fella take the time to sit down and chat with the locals. I have met some spectacular people - one great bloke in Halls Creek who took the time to explain to me his culture. Country folk are much nicer than city clickers - in the city, we all rush too much and don't appreciate this amazing country...

Bit disappointed with the criticism in the comments actually. Of course the acting isn’t amazing…they’re not actors, but they wanted to try a fun way to introduce a bit of a historical element. Everyone that goes touring around Aus and 4WD’ing, or even just travels a few hours from home to explore, the small towns you stop in at and the tracks and land you drive on to be able to enjoy your hobby and passion…it all has a rich history. Having at least some awareness and respect for the amazing land that you are incredibly fortunate to be able to use is the least you can do. If you don’t enjoy it, just unsubscribe.
