I do remember him when Pakistan came to India tour and he played well in that series

I always Miss him because the way he use to build his game was very rare to see. He was a pure batsmen like Saeed Anwar from Pakistan.

Asim kamal did't tell the actual names of the people who destroyed him. This is social media, he should take names so that the real face of our big stars also come in front of the people and they may start campaigning against them in social media at least, to make sure that it never happens for someone else. This step may provide Asim kamal to get another chance.

Only fighter at Kolkata test against india 2005,sanjay Manjrekar said it seems that asim kamal has come from old school of batsmanship.such was his technique.

I know him personally, he lived in model colony Malir Karachi and come for pray in the same masjid where i pray. So many times we had hello hi. Amazing talent of cricket but PCB never cares.

I never understood what happened to this guy. These yahya husseinis and Basit Ali and Tanvir Ahmads talk of Khurram Manzoor. But this guy was indeed a spectacle to watch! Most calm and collected player who could actually time the ball. 15 years down the lane and I still remember his 87 against Aussies. This guy would have easily equalled Younis Khan.

The reason Asim Kamal didn’t played much cricket because of Inzamam, Yousaf and Younis selfishness. Many good players were knocking the door but because of their insecurities misbah came late into the team, Fawad Alam and Asim Kamal wasted. If you look at the Indian team of that era, it was other way around. Players like Yuvraj, sehwag and Raina were given chances Having Dravid, Sachin and Ganguly in the team. Once those legends retired, those 3 players took over.

One criticism experts had about him was his highest/best scores were always in a losing cause , meaning he could only perform when the pressure was less . Although I personally hated him see play against us as among all the Pakistanis batsmen he looked more calm,composed and in control when at the crease .

i do remember him in a test match against india ..where he and razzaq took over after we got quick wickets against pak..it was so difficult to get him out ...but suddenly..he dissapeared...really talent wasted(he waas like left hand version of inzamam)........love from india

I do think Asim Kamal was wasted. But I am still shocked at Rashid Latif and Nauman's biased opinions. You talk about Abid being wasted because his domestic record was good. Asim Kamal's domestic record is below average. He averaged 34 in 134 matches with 11 centuries over 17 years. You guys bash Imam for not having great domestic record but he has much better international record than Asim. Which one is it? Good domestic performance for selection or good international performance for selection? Please stay consistent in your views.
