My Ford Ranger would stall or RPM would drop and almost quit but recover. This was an endless cycle. Never get a check engine light or code. Disconnected electrical connector on the evap solenoid purge valve in the engine compartment. Finally got codes PO443 and PO455 along with check engine light. Engine runs fine with the electrical connector disconnected. Problems comes back if I reconnect it. Ordered factory part from Ford. Dealer and other shops couldn't solve or fix the problem. Was chasing the problem for months.

This sounds just like my 2002 Escort ZX2. I've been having the exact same issue. I had the VVT solenoid replaced and after a couple days... It started doing the same thing again. It's in the shop as we speak. I'm going to show him your comment and see if he thinks he can try that. So far... He is stumped.

Need help ford f150 emissions light is on every time I brake it dies battery light pops up and and i have to turn off the truck and turn it back on i hooked it up to a code reader but just said emissions related engine problem

It sounds like a wiring problem; an emission issue shouldn't cause the battery light to come on.

Is there any way to bypass the whole thing. I don’t have to pass emissions test where I live.

I have never heard of a bypass option, but as long as the purge valve is not stuck open, it shouldn't affect the engine.

Usually, when the FTP sensor goes bad, it gives a code, and the EVAP system does not work, but it does not affect the engine. The only EVAP component I have seen cause engine issues is the purge valve since if it gets stuck open; it causes a vacuum leak.
