He took her money, kept the dog and then thought he could sue her for financing a dog she never had? What is he on? 🤨

So I just did a Google search for my own curiosity's sake, and apparently, its not quite as simple as "I'll meet you at the border office and hand off a puppy to you." There are RULES about HOW this needs to be done. First, you have to have a dog (like a puppy) who has never been vaccinated, those MUST be done 30 days prior to the transaction. Border Patrol DOES have the authority to refuse the transaction if they deem the animal unhealthy. I think the TRUTH is though, the breeder's girlfriend DID NOT want to give up the puppy and she took her.

So he says he took the puppy from his now ex girlfriend and then later says the puppy isn't worth that much because it's not cute anymore. So why did he take the puppy away from his girlfriend, he is just vindictive with everyone? And if he wants to keep the puppy then all vet bills are his. What a ghastly person he is...

Its a good thing that she chose to deal with this in tv court, where the network pays the judgement, because I doubt he'd have respected the judgement and given her the money.

The defendant is sad. This case is one of the worst I've seen.

If you're selling a mixed breed for $950, you better make damn sure that puppy is UTD on its shots! That is probably the real reason why the dog wasnt allowed over the boarder, because they had no vet paperwork.

Who in their right mind thinks you can just hand ANYTHING off at the boarder? Especially an unvaccinated dog that probably didn't have a health certificate. And in the middle of a pandemic.

That question at the end about car insurance. My state is a pay to play state. Meaning, if you don't have insurance and get rear ended the other person at faults insurance doesn't have to pay a dime towards your repairs. You choose to drive without it, you take all the risk.

Well that was crappy. The guy didn't even try to get the dog to her other than going to the border. I've never done anything like that, and I know there's all kinds of regulations and laws on both sides that you have to follow to get a dog through. It may be crazy, but it's those kinds of regulations that prevent outbreaks of disease.

I had to take a second look at one of those puppy shots that turned out to be a pug in a mug.

He patrols our yard, no fence, protects us in the home, we go for walks with no leash, never bit anyone, 10 years now. Extremely intelligent, so beautiful that strangers take his picture..

Judges comment about insurance. In my country of origin, you can't get your yearly registration renewed, if don't have proof of insurance. And of course it has to be a 12 month insurance. There it doesn't cost an arm an a leg to buy car insurance. I don't know how people here in the US drive without having one.🤷‍♀️

The defendant had no reason to let this come to court. So now the show pays the judgment and he still gets to keep the dog. So unfair. 😏

Mutt is worth only cost of vaccinations and cost of spay or neuter. That's all. Jeeze.

I had gas station chicken strips and terrible coffee on my 200 mile drive through the Sierra-Nevadas this morning.

Why would anybody pay $950 to a shady backyard breeder in another country for a mixed breed dog that probably should never have been conceived? (Breed a Pug to a Chihuahua - WHY?) And both seller and buyer are so totally ignorant of the many rules about bringing dogs into the USA from another country. The rules are very detailed and specific, the dog has to go through customs and have all of the vaccination and health record paperwork inspected. The ruling was appropriate.

And his smug arrogant look terrified me. I hope he continues to treat the animal well.

Plantiff: I paid for the puppy Border patrol: not so fast! Defendant's gf: you cant have puppy mwahaha Defendant gets puppy back: plantiff if you want your puppy, give more money Judge: for what? Defendant: well I had to take care of the puppy Judge: because you refused to deliver!give the money back Defendant: but the dog is grown and cant sell for the puppy price Me: well maybe you should've given the puppy to the plantiff and not scam her

Some of these defendants would be better off admitting that they just don’t have the money to pay they person back. That would be a lot better than making up ridiculous reasons for it paying money that you know you owe plus people would respect you for it.

I believe the defendant when he said she didn't follow through any of her plans to get the puppy, ie the trucker being given the dog. Then to find out the woman didn't want another puppy because she got one. Judge M should have questioned more instead of making her mind up before all the facts were heard.

I agree with John's summation at the end. Judges seem to let people off of charges very often.

Insurance isn't required in New Hampshire. but, it is in the 3 states around us. So if you can avoid ever leaving New Hampshire, you can do so ( no car insurance ) legally.

First off. They both needed to insure that the exchange happens BEFORE money exchanged hands. A deposit of a couple hundred yes. Second. He's stupid thinking he and girlfriend can keep dog AFTER getting the money, charge her for care and vet bills, YET not give her the dog. There is nothing wrong with a trucker taking across the border. It is done all the time. I know many people who have got puppies through truck drivers.

What does his Grandma have to say in all of this? Because it sure looks like he's participating from his Grandma's house, maybe an elderly aunt.

I just researched this for curiosity and you have to do some things before you can go to the border, like the dog had to have vaccinations and inspected at the border. Like there are real dog import requirements here in the US. He definitely owes her the money back.

I took my small dog over the border multiple times. You have to have paperwork in order, other than the first time I always had the papers. Never, not once, did they ask for them. Id still take them in case. Every patrol person is different. On both sides.

He can't deliver the puppy. They both really should have looked into how they had to do this. I personally would not buy an animal from another country like this because of this very problem. There are so many rules, and sometimes the animal has to go into quarantine, and this was ALL before Covid. I think the girlfriend wanted the puppy and he didn't want to mention that.

I thought u had different things u have to do to bring a animal, puppy, into the US from another country during Covid or not. I thought health certificate, shots. Etc. I visited Germany with my dog and I had to bring health certificate, shots, chipped, etc just to visit or if I didn't my dog goes into quarantine.
