I feel im at a crossroads. Finding your channel a few weeks ago , I was literally encompassed by your absolute inner joy you have for curiousty, the boat and everything it involves. You have made me laugh, cry, get angry on behalf of you, watched you grow as people from the dock in Ft Lauderdale and now here I am finally caught up and its very very hard for me now that im caught up. And to feel that I feel so close to strangers on the internet. You are the first channel I have ever become a patreon of. I just love how consistent you have ALWAYS been even from the first video I watched. You both still have that innate curiousty that makes this the best sailing channel i have seen. I am sad to not have a bunch of new videos to watch. It was actually very soothing as i have severe anxiety and depression . Your channel has really helped me. Thank you Jason and Nikki for always having the quality and deep passion for what you do. Always happy sailing. I hope you never stop.

My understanding in Philippines resorts can lease beachfront and sea for docks for exclusive use. Small island we investigated for sale had such a lease in the due diligence package sent to us. I suspect happens more often on small islands. We noticed also Indian groups of Palawan also have rights to affect the development of islands for resorts or personal use.
@RiverWoods111
@RiverWoods111 2 ай бұрын
The reason they probably don't want cruisers to anchor and come ashore is most of the time they are just doing so to cut through the resort. Also, I think they probably own the pier. Once they realized they wanted to eat at the restaurant they were given permission. It is rather short-sighted of resorts to turn away people who might decide to buy stuff even if they are just passing through. Especially that resort that was completely public from the street. People try to do the same in the US and the beaches are mostly if not completely public, but people are not allowed onto the properties, and homeowners will tell you that you can't be on their beach.

I noticed that some of the other folks that just got new boats are really struggling. Lots of things are broken and basically to sum it up they don’t seem like they’re having a very good time. I absolutely love your boat. At 64, if we decided that was the lifestyle for us that would be the boat I want, but I actually don’t think that is going to happen. I just find it interesting to watch the different personalities of the different boats and sailors on them. do you actually not have many problems or do you not show them? I tend to think the problems you’ve had you have shown and nothing has been a dealbreaker. Parlay clearly had huge problems but given the level of expertise, engineering and sailboat repair knowledge, they just put their head down and fix it. Love your channel!❤️

We made an episode dedicated to some of our boat problems and have an episode coming up about warranty work. Boats are a ton of work and maintenance…new or old. Also important to remember we’ve had our new boat for less time than most of the other new boats, so there’s still heaps of time for things to go awry. 🤪
@craigknights

Parlay is a bit different as it was a wrecked boat that they repaired. It's also a 20 year old boat and of a model that has been shown to have some dubious construction. The repairs are kind of the essence of their channel...

Cashew nut oil and poison ivy oils have urushiol (look it up) in a micro thin layer that's similar to tree sap. It's sticky and not easy to get off with just a shower/bath. Alcohol, diluted bleach, sunshine (UV breaks it down) , and sea water to air cycles (to dry it out) can help. Touching it or wearing clothing over the sap can smear it around and cause the irritated area to expand or spread.

Not days later. It might spread the oil when it is sitting on the skin after touching the plant, but not days later after it’s been washed away. And contrary to popular belief, the breaking blisters do not cause more rash. Instead it is just that different areas of exposure react at different speeds, making it appear that what had ruptured had spread. But it doesn’t “spread”, it’s just the varying rate of reaction to the original exposure.

But it doesn’t “spread”, it’s just the varying rate of reaction to the original exposure. Also, NEVER BURN the vines or any other plant containing the oil. The oil moves in the air with the smoke and if you inhale it you get the reaction in your lungs which can be fatal!

@@TERMICOBRA sure. But what I’m saying is people think if the blisters rupture the liquid from the blisters will cause the rash to spread. That the “blister juice” spreads it. That is not true. The reason it may seem that way is because it just takes longer for the reaction to show sometimes, or, as you said, you may still have oil from the plant somewhere and you rub it on you again, causing a fresh reaction. But the blisters rupturing will not spread the reaction.

I hit a “stick” off the New England Coast at 2 am, well didn’t see the buoy but hit the net it was marking. . .10 miles off shore, foul weather, thank goodness because a 15 ft wave picked us up and released us from the net. . . Spent the next two hours freaking out about the other side of the net catching us. In the US, these buoy (sticks) are a bit taller and sometimes lit, but our radar didn’t pick them up. Great vid.

@@chasetonga it's a lot better than 360 or 480! not all of us live in areas where it is possible to stream at 4K or 1080 or have devices that are capable of it!!!

After spending nine years in university getting my degree as a clinical psychologist and working 30 years pedal to the metal. I was able to accept a job in London and it changed my life. My wife and I had the three best years of our lives there. We also bought a place in Tuscany and spent the next 15 years going there for 2 to 3 months a year. You are much younger than I was when I started living, a life that provided me with a much much much better work life balance. Very fortunate and that you have figured out how to monetize such an endeavor. However, your life is really one lived by very very few people. Not everybody can use KZfaq and sponsorship to pay her own way. Do you ever get tired of your lifestyle?

Could forward sonar have helped spot those fishing markers. I think there are versions that see quite a good distance.

Just when I think you can't top all your other adventures, you do it again! What a beautiful part of the planet!! Sounds like we need a drone that can float, just in case. Haha Hey DJI....get on that!! Off to do house work here in North Texas....you guys remember that place. Mid 90's, no clouds....perfect for pool action later! Thanks for sharing!!

is this the new normal - - - new episodes every other week? They are fantastic and informative, but it messes up my week when I don't have one.

Every other week - I'll take it if it means the stories and production quality can be this good. Personally, I think the pressure to put something out every week is one of the reasons that so many of the episodes made by the other sailing channels focus on the negative and things going wrong. 'What broke today' is probably an easy and readily available story line on any given boat for any given week, but they soon feel repetitive and boring. Not to mention they don't leave me with the same enlightened and light hearted vibes that an episode like one this delivers.

Great video Wynns! Just great. The boat is gorgeous. I’d love it if the sailing shots were maybe 3 to 5 seconds longer just to absorb its elegance on the water. Wow!

Underwater obstacels are not uncommon. The Michipicoten , a 700 foot Great Lakes bulk carrier struck something while in Lake Superior took on water and developed a 35 degree list. Pumps took over and she is safe in a port. Fair winds ⛵ 06-11-2024 Up-date from the USCG said there was the greater possibility of a structural failure than an underwater collision. Correcting a previous story I read.
