If you read the lore tab for the ship “unforeseen consequences” from this season we know that cayde is coming back because crow wished him back thinking he was talking to Mara but he was actually talking to riven

After Cayde died I only played for like 6 more months till that one expansion with the royalty people with all the white and purple. I might get back into it tho if he's coming back

@@CowKirbothat mission is sad but if you know everything about him it’s worse. Ace is what he wrote down as his son before being made an exo. We are unaware if he actually had a son called ace or if he did this to give his new life a meaning to live for. He doesn’t even truly know either. So when he says “I’m coming home, ace” he’s pretty much saying he’s accepted his death here and is willing to see his son again in the afterlife.

I played D1 religiously, then stopped as D2 came out and Cayde died. I picked up D2 a month ago with no idea it being just in time for Cayde to be back. I’m a hunter since day 1.

@@Ceres_5 it is just the cloak. taking up the cloak of a fallen ally as a hunter basically means making an unbreakable promise. he wore it as a promise to andal because cayde won a bet, hunting down taniks meaning andal had to be the hunter vanguard. after taniks the cockroach returned and killed andal in revenge, cayde took up his cloak and his position as the hunter vanguard as a promise to him. source - I am a hunter.

I think he’s not really coming back since it seems like we are going into the traveler and that’s could be where fallen light bringers souls could reside when they officially die so I think the only time we will see him is inside the traveler.

if you look closely at his eyes, mouth, and gun, it almost looks like hes partially a taken now. maybe in this case itll be similar to sloane where he is still in control of his body but hes alive because hes taken. im probably wrong but thats just what it looks like

Weird how many hunter vanguards died or went missing. No one it was ever filled in, seems like a death sentence, specially when you consider that the titan and warlock vanguards have, iirc, 2 vanguards each, all of whom are alive and known whereabouts (I guess Saint-14 technically WAS dead and Osiris was missing for years and is now lightless but that sure beats being really dead)

They already have; Crow was talking to Mara Sov, or he thought he was, but it was really Riven imitating her. He said his biggest regret was killing Cayde-6 and that he wished he could bring him back. So Crow just accidentally wished Cayde-6 back to life, though knowing Riven, there'll likely be a catch.

Probably not. An exo doesn’t increase their number unless they are reset at the brey tech labs. Otherwise Cayden’s number would be significantly higher due to reviving via ghost the innumerable amount of times he’s died as guardian

Still doesn’t make sense, if cayde comes back then savathun, dredgen yör, GHAUL, DMT Shadow Hunter, Grasp pirate guardian & friends, eris’s fireteam, geometry titan, the iron lords, savathuns song fireteam (12 man strike & still lost is crazy), & literally every character to have wielded the light be in the travussy because how in the shit is cayde the only one that gets to live out of any of these characters
