As a Duke fan, I feel awful for the Syracuse players. They lost because Jim lost his shit and wouldn't leave the refs alone, even if he didn't say anything, they would've still been in a better position to win than having a double tech. Boeheim ruined good Syracuse basketball.

@jakecarlisle64217 жыл бұрын
As a ref I see the cuZe player trying to avoid chest to chest contact. In fact most of the contact is on the arm. And the Duke player getting there a little late. In real time I'm making a no call here and basket scores. I detest when we dissect plays in slow motion. Unfair to the officials.

Cuse fan here- orange missed way too many bunnies to win this game....and Ennis was horrible throughout. That still was an awful call on Fair. If the refs call Parker's drive a block at the 10:30 mark in the second half then the same call should've been made with Fairs drive. Consistency is what matters that's why it was an infuriating call. Cuse played awful offensively though, plenty of chances to win. Both of these teams were gone first weekend of the tourney anyways

1:11:28 "He had a right to scream. There's time when coaches have a right." No, Dick Vitale. Coaches have a right to be upset at a bad call, but they don't have the right to stomp onto the court and scream their heads off without restraint. While I agree that the supposed charge was a bad call, I don't blame the officials for calling a technical. I feel bad for Syracuse, because they still would've had a chance if Boeheim didn't throw his fit. I may believe that wasn't a charge, but it isn't the officials' fault that a veteran coach with over 30 years of experience couldn't control his emotions over one bad call..
@nhlombardi69464 жыл бұрын
that clearly blew the game you moron
@nintendonerdsvideos47275 жыл бұрын
The haters mostly unc fans say that Duke gets all the calls. Well, the main reason is that Duke is the only school that has its questionable calls plastered on Sportscenter or go viral. The bad calls that other teams get like 2009 unc and hansbrough getting away with bullish moves and constant travelling are not. I'll close with this, Who hires the refs for conference play? The commissioner of the acc. Who is the commissioner of the acc? John Swofford What did Swofford do before? AD at unc Where did Swofford go to school? unc again At least Jim's jacket fetched a lot of money for chairty

@JZ2001JC8 жыл бұрын
People it was a clear charge the Duke player had his feet set like way before the Syracuse player went airborne therefore it's a clear charge. Goodness stop letting hate blind you from truth.
@Kartkid0248 жыл бұрын
+JZ2001JC It really wasn't. In fact this went on to be discussed by so many experts on how wrong the call was. I think maybe you want to believe it was a charge or you don't fully understand what a charge is, but this play here should have been a blocking foul.
@JZ2001JC8 жыл бұрын
+Kartkid024 His feet were set. I've spoken to many college coaches themselves who say it was a clear charge. Even a guy who knows a college ref who said it was at least a 50/50 call so I guess it's matter of opinion. Mute pt because Bohiem blew it with his lack of self control.
@DukeFan19718 жыл бұрын
+Kartkid024 Missed calls and wrong calls happen in every game, to both teams involved. As the commentator said near the end of this video, if it wasn't for Jim Boeheim losing his mind and going way outside the coaches box--which forced the official to call a technical, and then another one when he continued--it would have been Duke's ball, up 2, and the best they could have done was get another basket or a free throw if they were fouled. Based on Duke's FT shooting that game, Syracuse would have had a good chance to either tie or take the lead (depending on whether the fouled player got one or no free throws) if that had been the case. Jim Boeheim took that chance away by running out on the court like he did, so there's no one to blame but him. And as many times as they showed that play, it still looks to me like Hood had his feet planted in time, and everyone kept saying that it was too close to call, they couldn't tell for sure, etc. So the official made a call based on something that three people couldn't decide definitively with multiple replays, and he could have been deemed right either way he'd gone on that call. But like they said, it wasn't the call that ended the game--it was Jim Boeheim's 2 technicals that did that.
@JZ2001JC8 жыл бұрын
+DukeFan1971 Amen.
@Kartkid0248 жыл бұрын
***** yes in full speed I cant blame the officials for missing it. It is a tough job to do. They did miss it and that was a crappy way to end the game, but I understand how hard it is. I do agree too that they atleast had a chance after the call. Not much but a chance. The technical was what ended it. I wouldnt say it was a moot point as the technical doesnt happen if the charge isnt called, but it did throw away any chance they did have.
