Sadly though all the pictures and letters that were found by my friend ended up getting burned, they truly did not know what a large piece of history they destroyed.

I have found a 1914-1918 Newfoundland War service pin wrapped in a Union Jack hidden in the floor boards of an old house in Red Harbour on the Burin Peninsula. The service number on the back of the pin led me to a name of a soldier killed on April 14, 1917. I have been looking into how this pin ended up where I found it. Especially since the young man that was from Bishops Falls, NL. His name was Lance-Corporal Beaden Colbourne. Can anyone help me in my search for information?God Bless them all.
