In this archival Land & Sea episode from 1992, the show visits Burnt Islands, a fishing community of 1,000 located half an hour from Port aux Basques. The hook-and-line or long line fishery was taking a nose dive and people there were forced into collecting unemployment insurance stamps. Fishing was the only source of income in the community. This episode also contains footage of an Icelandic fishing boat named The Innovation that was being tried on an experimental basis in the inshore fishery.
