Why does it seem that majority of the cases are from "Non-Norwegians"? That is so weird. Americans, Canadians, Indians, Lithuanians, Polish, etc. They seem to target foreigners who they probably think are clueless about Norwegian child welfare laws. This makes Norway an unsafe destination to travel as a family because who knows, you might return to your home country without your children. That's just sickening.

This is a truly inhuman organization because the bond between parents and child is natural, unique, very strong. I am surprised such barbaric practices exist in Norway. This should be condemned by all the civilised world.

Somebody should make a documentary about how many kids have died under their care too, it’s disgusting that they can go on. There’s many private companies that earns millions in BARNEVERNET that’s why they don’t shut it down. Children in the system have no voice, they even take suicide after being abused in their care. One case where a kid where systemically abused by a private owner in BARNEVERNET took his life because BARNEVERNET and the police did not punish the private owner. After he took his life, Barnevernet continued to have million dollars contracts with his abuser trafficking kids through him knowing he’s a child molesteer. This truly is legal child trafficking under the flag of “child protection” and the media is in on it! They always say barnevernet can’t comment because of privacy for the children. So they just keep on

Similar case happened with Indian parents, but thanks to Late Sushma Swaraj, Indian govt official and beloved politician for her timely intervention. The Indian parents got their children back after 3years of battle

Thank you for taking this dark story to public. More people need to know these malpractices done by the child wellfare service called “Barnevern” in Norway. The story in the film “Mrs. Chaterjee vs Norway” is a true story. This family is not the only immigrants who have had these terrible experiences from “Barnevern” in Norway. Many children have been taken from their parents for no logical reason.

This is 2023 and just watched the Indian movie Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway. It is amazing!! Rani Mukerji was just brilliant. Shame on Barnevernet and thank you for Bollywood and Nikhil Advani from bringing in the topic to the world

This problem ramped up when the Norwegian government started working with private companies to partially provide child services. Because now you have a private company involved and a company has the first responsibility of returning a profit.

Friends of mine (he German, she Norwegian) left Norway very quickly in the middle of the night with three of their four children to prevent them from being taken away.

I'm not religious by any means, but you are absolutely right about this when it comes to our child protection system in Norway. It's fundamentally flawed and needs to be reformed, for the childrens best interest. The most common reason statistically is "lack of parenting skills", not drug abuse, neglect or violence. The problem here is that it's highly subjective. Bureaucracy, and way too many unethical descisions based on subjective flimsy reasons are made to forcefully remove a child from their parents where the children doesn't get heard and the parents doesn't even get any help measures. "Barnevernet" also made my life a living hell when I was younger, ruining my schooling and indoctrinating me to believe I had no one who cared about me in my biological family network.

Thank CBN so much for this. I am also a victim of the vicious barnevernet. Still have 2 children under the system since 2008.

My two kids were slightly underweight as toddlers. It was just family genes, all my brothers had been skinny but healthy. Of course my doctor questioned it, but he ran tests and told me to keep a food diary for a week. He determined they were well nourished and perfectly healthy, just skinny and tall for their age.

I have heard about Barnevernet. If you are a foreigner with children in Norway, you are at serious risk of this injustice. SHAME ON YOU, NORWAY (government)!

I am shocked to hear about this kidnapping taking place with these families ! The people all need to stand together and make their voices heard until something is done. Not sure what type of faith they all have but, there is power in prayer and God's living words. I put these children & families in my prayer book and will pray.

Norway is sick from government down to their citizens. I am happy to find out, there are organizations, fighting those imbeciles and help parents who lost their children get them back (even though illegally).

These Scandinavian authorities are sick. They are taken children out from normal families of immigrants while these discrimination does not apply to the ethnic Scandinavians.

Sounds like the US really needs to send the military to Norway and not Ukraine.

What one hell of a psycho nation this is? Just one pound underweight baby or just a little spanking and you take the kids away? This is pure evil at best. Almost every kid could have been spanked by parents when little. Even I was. But that doesn't mean parents didn't love them or were cruel. Parents would do anything for them. A little discipline is necessary sometimes. But u don't take kids away from parents for these things. That's purely wrong n evil.
