He was a star for me, especially when I first came to the Lord as a teenager! Now I'm also nearly 60 yrs married to my love! All what he is experiencing I may soon experience & what a comfort he is comforted with! "Shirly has just moved to her heavenly home!" What a future!!

He never disappointed me concerning his Christian standards in every aspect of his life. Pat Boone made a lasting impression. In 1968-1969 I was stationed in Tokyo (USAF), and I attended a little church just off the Air Base. One of the officers found out Pat Boone and his family were in Tokyo for something. Here is a very famous singer and actor with all his family. They are meeting contractual obligations and trying to have a family vacation. It was Sunday night in an incredibly large city. They got separated, but Pat and two daughters made it to the little church. He made such an effort (during the era of the Vietnam War) just to encourage everyone. Other than his dedication to just encouraging the people of God, Pat got nothing out of the effort; his wife and he were separated in a big city in a country they may not have visited before. I know that he also served on an important board at Pepperdine University for decades. I would see him from a distance (because I vowed never to impose on someone like him), at a Pepperdine event, a place where I would spend 30 of my 35 years of college teaching. I have great respect for Pat Boone and his whole family. Perhaps I will meet them in the Heavenly realm. :)

Pat Boone has been a role model for me ever since I got a pair of white buck shoes in high school.

Such a rare thing to find a couple who dated as teens and stayed together and in love 65 years. Beautiful to see.

Grief comes in waves. I’ve found that when you have grief continuously, you have lots of regret. If you’ve done everything you knew to do for the loved one you’ve lost you don’t have as much grief. I lost my brother suddenly when he was 25. I learned that lesson then. When he stepped on to a plane to return to his home in Texas, we never dreamed that would be it. I would advise anyone to not leave things unsaid. Undone.

Being born in 1950, I grew up with the Boone family. Grandma had several of his Worship albums, which were often playing on Sunday mornings while she prepared to go to Church.

I remember when you and Shirley married, it was beautiful to hear your life story with her and our Creator and Savior. I still have many of your 45's, lost a few to my own children. lol They enjoyed your music also. This was so touching and inspirational. Hope precious it is to dwell with God's children. My name is Shirley and my husband's name is Pat. We took a lot of teasing for that. I always said we could not have had better examples. My husband went home 5 years ago. Seems like yesterday, still such a precious part if my life. When my husband went home I remember falling on my knees at his bedside with the tears rolling down. All of a sudden it was as if someone lift placed theirs beneath by elbows and lift me up from my knees. This over whelming peace over flowed me and has not left me. This is what I pray for you and your family. I could not have made it without that peace that God gave me. Praise His Holy Name.

I met Shirley Boone the day she was on TBN . We met at the Circle Restaurant in Portsmouth Va. she was with 2 people from Dallas the show. I was so excited to meet her and blessed.

My thoughts and prayers for this wonderful man and his family. They have always been the epitome of talent and grace, and a lasting example of what America once represented.

Pat & Shirley Boon were a wonderful influence on young people who came after them. They encouraged chastity & general good morals, & gave us a living example of the beauty & blessings of that life. Shirley spoke about forgiveness once on one of the daytime talk shows decades ago, & it has helped me so much over the years. I follow her lead to this day. A short version & one I hope comes close to what she shared with us is: when you are especially hurt because someone has hurt your children or another that you love, & you can't muster the inner feelings of forgiveness, you tell The Lord you forgive them & release them to Him. You hold no grudge or wish for them to pay for what they have done, & you trust in God to supply the good feelings of forgiveness in you in His time. God Bless that sweet & Godly woman, may she rest in Holy Peace. Amen.

I liked everything he sang, my favorite was his "Love Letters in the Sand." I was also a little Elvis fan too. I loved music. But there was something about Pat Boone's voice. Not like Elvis, and yes they were both very popular, I remember that. There was something wholesome about him. It came across in his music. I hope he knows this. I don’t think Pat would ever see my comment,but I got saved at a David Wilkerson teen challenge ralley in Anaheim,ca. It was 1969. (I was in 8th grade) He (Pat) and Debbie and Cherry all sang that night. I seriously walked forward not really understanding the gravity of what was happening. In the coming weeks I felt Jesus in a most profound way in a humble small home. I have had a few bumps in my road of life but always know Jesus IS the way the truth and the life. Thank you Pat. It is so hard to be parted especially when you have spent your whole life with your sweetheart. My parents were married the day after they graduated from high school. It literally almost killed my father to lose her. His grief was palpable. I hope Mr. Boone has come to a place where he can stand knowing full well "That this World is not my Home", as the old hymn says and he certainly will see her again in the City Foursquare. I attended the congregation where Nick led singing. He sounds a lot like Pat. They had the difficulties all marriages go through...but they hung in there and righted their ship.

I am so touched. He is so sweet, so loving. They are the luckiest people in the world to have loved each other for so many years. May God Bless her.

Pats daughter and granddaughter were both teachers I had in middle school and they were both incredibly nice, patient, honest people. He has left a legacy in many more ways than one
