Yesterday I flushed the coolant, did an oil change, and lubricated the chain on my '09 CBR600RR. All of which I did by watching your three videos on those procedures! Sure was a lot of help and now my bike is ready for the track tomorrow! Thanks CycleCruza!

What video did you watch to remove the fairings , they are different in the 09
@Chilapo1992
@Chilapo1992 4 жыл бұрын
@@Ricardo_C The hardest part is removing the upper fairing but that's the same on both 08 and 09. Removing the lower engine fairing on the 09 is easy, its the same as the lower fairing on the 08 with two extra bolts.

thanks! I appreciate it! Honestly, although the fire blade is a great ridiculously fast bike, you'll probably appreciate the 07+ cbr600rr more, really more suited for the streets, it has a gas gauge and has way more power than need. I've been riding mine for almost a year and the power still gives me an adrenalin rush. You will not wish for more power...

You're right! BUT the schedule lists "NOTE 4" next to Coolant, NOTE 4 = (verbatim) Replace every 2 years or at indicated odometer interval, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. My bike is a 2008 is 5 years old, I have no idea when the coolant was changed last, the dealer said they just checked it. I've owned the bike for almost a year, it was time to change the coolant.

Cruza, you're awesome! Thanks to your video of which bike to start with and etc, you saved me from buying a brand new 1000RR fireblade to begin. I took your advice about learning to be a good rider and to learn how to handle different powered bikes, I now own an used 250r as you told so, and i'm getting pretty confident with it already! Thanks bro, keep up the AWESOME work!!

If u flushed it out 2-3 times don't worry about getting every single drop of distilled water out. When it stops dripping, then plug it up and put your coolant in. MAKE SURE U PUT THE SEALING WASHER BACK ON WHEN YOU PUT THE PLUG BACK ON!!!! If you don't you will have leaks for sure.
@CycleCruza
@CycleCruza 11 жыл бұрын
Don't worry about it as long as there are no leaks and it stays at the same level and your bike is staying at the same temps.
@CycleCruza
@CycleCruza 11 жыл бұрын
replace the coolant every 2 years or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first. So unless you put 24k miles on your in less than 2 years, you will need to replace your coolant every 2 years.

The service manual defines the antifreeze drain procedure as follows: -Remove the water pump bolt ... drain the coolant -Remove cylinder drain bolt ... drain the coolant from the cylinder. In your instructions skipped antifreeze drianing from the cylinder block. But you flush the system with water. Fine. But because of the remaining water in the system, as I see it, you do NOT get a 50/50 mixture of glycol and water. In warm climates, this is normal, but if wintering in my country takes place at temperatures below -35/-31 Celsius/Fahrenheit, then the mix ratio may be important.
@CycleCruza
@CycleCruza 11 жыл бұрын
You leave the radiator cap off so you can bleed the air out of the system as shown , It should not spew out, if it did it might be because it was removing the air out of the system. idk You might want to take it to a professional mechanic if you are having any problems. All I did was go by the Official Honda/s service manual's instructions.Disclaimer: Btw, this video was for entertainment purposes only.

I've put 5k miles on my bike, has close to 15k miles now and my bike still rides like new, smooth as butter. Go to the forums, it's well know that these bikes can run hot. After 230 the fan will come on I believe but I never even got to the temp. However , these bikes are not meant for commuting, I try to stay out in the country with minimal stops.Btw, you are talking Celsius right?

The Official 2007/2008 Honda cbr600rr repair manual says to replace the coolant every two years or 24k miles, whichever comes first, so basically replace the coolant every two years.

The 2008 honda cbr600rr didn't feel all that much different from the 250 when it came to the size of it but the power was a serious shock. lol You have to handle the corners correctly. The 250 was great preparation for riding the 600rr.

lol my mate has a 600rr, I own a 750Srad (injection) ... on the track, my gearbox went bust, so he let me take his bike the last session/run. WOW the RR really is an amazingly easy to drive machine, and it pulls reasonably well too. But you dont have to handle the corners correctly, well, by no means like on a 750. I always have to look out for highsiders or the rear stepping away, my mate doesnt even bother anymore. He just jams the throttle open EVERY corner. The 600RR doesnt have the punch to highside...

hello, sorry, today on my cbr600rr I followed your guide to change the coolant but I could not put no more than two liters. So I looked at the workshop manual and it is explained that to drain the old liquid, as well as remove the screw near the pump, the water drain screw of the cylinders must also be removed. This is because I believe I have not completely removed the liquid because I have not been able to put more than 2 liters of it despite having run the engine for almost 10 minutes.

Freakin' dealer hit me up for $3.89 for that tiny copper washer. Should have been a whole bag of them for that price. I'm going to check the local hardware stores and match up the size (6.3mm) so they won't screw me over next time. It's just a copper washer for crying out loud. BMW even includes them with their oil filters since you need it for their drain plug. In a perfect world Honda would include one with every bottle of antifreeze.
@DIOSpeedDemon
@DIOSpeedDemon 5 жыл бұрын
You really don't need a new copper washer on a drain plug or brake fitting unless damaged. The soft copper washer molds to the engine and bolt side, providing an air tight seal. Now copper head gaskets DO need to be replaced new every time, not these little washers. Tip of the day. RH DSD

CC, I would also recommend using a waterless coolant. This will greatly extend the engine and cooling life use.
@CycleCruza
@CycleCruza 9 жыл бұрын
Honda PRO HP coolant doesn't require water, use straight out of the bottle. The distilled water is to flush the radiator and reservoir, not to mix with the coolant. I try to stick with OEM Honda everything except the oil, which I prefer Shell Rotella T-6 5w-40 Full synth.
@UhuruFrontier
@UhuruFrontier 9 жыл бұрын
CycleCruza What's up CC, The premixed coolant is water based. Waterless coolant is not and it gives your engine the maximum protection against damage. Plus, if you use this product, you will never have to do a coolant change again. Look up Evans Waterless Coolant on the net and the Tube.
