The camp 10 has the weight in all the right place. The trail master, mtech, and Dundee Bowie all had big ol swedges, so any weight they did have got taken away from the tip and moved back closer towards the middle of the blade for better balance. Saw the camp 10 winning any chopping all day, though batoning might be different. Awesome tests man.

i would love to see a kukri chop-off, the kabar kukri machete, the ontario kukri machete, the cold steel royal kukri machete, and the condor kukri machete or heavy duty kukri. That would be pretty awesome.

I really like them better than a tomahawk, but they take some getting used to in the way they chop, the compromise would be something like the jessica-x, which looks like it chops as well as any large kukri, but is a bit more compact and easier to pack into a backpack, the alternative would be a parang or large bowie, the condor lochnessmuk was another i was interested in along with that crkt mah-chete.

I have the Kershaw and I find that it bites extremely well due to the mass and length. The belly makes it so much easier to recover from a deep bite compared to a flat edge knife and distributes the mass of the blade further forward where it needs to be for this kind of work.

Even though the Dundee has more length than the Camp 10, it just doesn't have the same mass to the spine which gives the Camp 10 a lot more power for chopping.

Camp 10...DUH. Mine chops like that one but also can ping single blackberry vines with ease. It does the work of blades costing three times as much and grips so well.

Yes it,t the blade geometry. It,s the same with swords it helps to have a desant edge,but the geometry is doing most of the job.

Dude, it was kinda frustrating to see the Dundee fail at chopping like that. It looks so much like a wicked chopper, but it works more like a slicer than anything, and that ain't no good. They're gonna have to re-think the grind on it.

If it's simply chopping, and associated by blade length, give the OKC SP8 a try. You need to change the edge before it sings. 20/40 on the worksharp does a good job.

I think I been watchin u hack stuff with the camp 10 for a week or so and I’ve owned it two . Hands down best knife for the money and outperformed everything only issue is the grip wears down the hand . I got two chips in blade from bein careless and hit a rock or two but I’m already planning to get another

i skipped the camp 10 and payed the extra money for the bk 9, just because the Kershaw isn't American made, plus the 1095 high carbon steel of the bk 9 was another selling point. but, damn, that blade did well. i'm thinkin i need to pick one up now. thanx Tac! btw, are we gonna see a bk 21 reinhardt review?

With the Dundee being from Condor, the edge might be their weird convex, which in my experience doesn`t do to great in chopping.

+Tactical I certainly don`t have your amount of experience so you definitly can judge that better, I just felt like throwing in my two cents xD I remember from my Condor Hudson Bay that it has this really wide convex edge and no matter how sharp I got the knife, it didn`t chop for #+*' even though it`s a big blade.

One more F. Y. I. the vintage TrailMadyer's of the early 90's had different ricaso's, and just don't make them like they use to. I just wish they made the tang's wider by the blade like the mew Kukuri Plus in O1, Now that's a beast. I teamed it with my SM III Master Hunter a lovely combo. But my O1 Kukuri defenetly would do good against those chopper's. Yeah, check it out .,,.

I've got the GSO 10, Camp 10, and a ESEE Junglas. I love the GSO but the Camp has such a good handle with a forward lanyard hole and so much forward blade power.
