As someone who works for this company, it's so short handed, it pays nothing for very hard work, when you show up to a call no one else shows up. When she said there's 10 people who need help and you're the only one who shows up is exactly what I tell my friends about the job. If the company paid more, more people would work there, making the job less painful. Meanwhile the owner of the company makes 5 million a year and we're walking 30k steps a day, pushing 2 wheelchairs, understaffed, no lunch break but forcing people to clock out as if they took a lunch break, sweating, for $12 an hour.

Report the company for unfair business practices. That is when another company is being unfairly penalized because your company is cheating.

A lot of the wheelchair attendants are usually small females who you see pushing very overweight people by themselves. You can tell that these attendants are struggling trying to help these paxs the best they can. I have seen when a passenger was literally carried on the airplane because they “couldn’t walk”. But once we landed into our destination they started complaining about having to wait and got up and walked off the airplane. Maybe these paxs shouldn’t travel alone because when you have a person weighing 100 pounds having to push a wheelchair passenger 3 times their weight and getting yelled at it’s hard. The airlines do not hire the wheelchair companies, they work for the airport and go to every airline at the airport.

I service passenger in Myrtle beach. We punch two wheelchairs at a time every night, it’s just the way it is unfortunately. The pay is low and we do work for tips but are not allowed to mention that this is a service. Many people do tip thankfully, but many don’t even say thank you. The bigger problem is the wheelchair scams that go on. People request a wheelchair just to get through TSA quickly and board their flight early. You can see they have no disability but under the law we can’t refuse them. This all limits the service we need to provide for people who require the service. .

Yes, the "miracle flights." People request wheelchair assistance to board a flight, and then they walk off unassisted at their destination, where they tie up wheelchair attendants waiting for them. They do that to have pre-boarding and get access to that coveted overhead bin space first. Let's crack down on the scammers.

That's too much. They definitely need to fix that because like he said he could have been hurt and the attendant even the passenger that helped.

I currently work for this company(not for long) but they're horribly understaffed because the job pays nothing for incredibly hard work

40,000 steps in a shift! No wonder they’re short staffed. I was very thankful for the help I had.

Some people are using the wheelchairs excessive. If you require a wheelchair to get on then it should be you needing a wheelchair to get off.

Been a wheelchair user at airports... yes the attendants are highly overworked and really try their best. Yes I've been wheeled with another by one attendant. Yes it's dangerous.

Yes, and maybe stop at a restaurant along the way for a snack or drink. Then, hurry, hurry, hurry...I'm going to be late.

I keep seeing videos about wheelchairs. It's not acceptable how all these chairs are being damaged. However, I have seen nothing about people who use walkers, especially rollator walkers. Are they being damaged as well? What are their plane experiences like?

I just cannot see how anyone can expect special services without paying for it. I am now a non driver (for YOUR safety ) and now have to pay for even being driven 2 miles to an MD office. I cannot walk or stand for any longer than 15 minutes. Just have to adjust my life and activities. And for anyone who is disabled and has the money to be a frequent traveler, I just have run out of sympathy because I am now surrounded by many people who are struggling to just pay monthly bills let alone travel. It is no fun being disabled, I get that but it is what it is.

It's not safe for you as the employee or it's not safe for any passenger. It's a safety violation and the airlines know this. They just don't want to responsible for the liability portion of this in case some accident happens. So they pay contracters like abm, unifii or g2 to hire and staff for wheelchair assist.
