This is one of the worst avoidable accidents l have ever heard of. Absolutely heartbreaking and the negligent limo owner should have got life.

Living on the other side of the country, I just heard about this yesterday when a video of an interview with the parents of the four sisters was suggested to me and I watched it. It wasn’t the video she excerpted here. It was one that must’ve been done at least a year earlier, maybe? Anyway, this is such a beautiful tribute to the victims. I lost my own son in 2016 and I understand what the mom says when she says she doesn’t remember the first three weeks that followed. I was in a state of shock, as well. This is such an amazing couple. What a loss for them and for their entire community.

He knew the Limo had no business in Service and ignored it! 20 lives GONE! And all he got was 10-15 years? HE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN LIFE X 20!!

I wish the limo owner would have received 5-15 years for each victim to be served consecutively. He should never be allowed out of prison.

These people, victims, were well accomplished, doing so many good things with their lifes serving other people making their lifes better. Living their lifes responsibly, so much sadness & waste of precious lifes. The parents of the 4 sisters & parents of the other victims, children it's overwhelming.

Each one of the victims were such outstanding people. I have a lot of friends, but not this many with amazing degrees and careers. This truly was a dream team of friends. It is absolutely tragic that they all lost their lives. That not one person survived. Sad.

I'm still trying to figure out how he only got community service... he knew how bad of a service record that limo had and that it should not even be on the road but yet he put 18 people in that limo and they all lost their lives. He should be spending time behind bars.

I don’t think I have ever Seared a story into my mind, as in this one. It’s etched. I am still sickened by this. Ridiculous series of events. Praying for everyone surviving this loss.

This was a fully preventable tragedy. My god what a senseless loss. So many parents, children, partners, friends. All gone 😢💔 It’s a loss in and of itself, but the fact that so many people from a circle of friends and a close community all lost their lives at the same time. Such a blow. That means the family and friends had not just one funeral but dozens. The grief I just cannot even imagine, losing so many people at once 😔

As law enforcement for 4 decades and holding a CDL for 3 decades and starting as a mechanic before joining the army I investigated a thousand crashes as a Trooper and responded to other emergencies as a medic and tactical medic. The limos I drove were rated for 10 and 14 passengers for the longest. There is also a weight rating. The heavier it is with passengers the harder on the brakes. I doubt the emergency parking brake was ever used or tested by holding the release at the same time. I've worked for several mideast Muslims that wouldn't spend money on maintaining as I suggested and went out of business because of equipment going so bad yet traveling overseas and out of state weddings. Without a written guarantee of service only two are responsible. The driver for being careless and operating unservicable equipment and failure to take proper emergency actions and the owner. It's uncomprehensible why he ignored the risks associated with the stress he put on the vehicle.these were all good people that had so much good to contribute to the world.

Honestly INSANE. One big thing that prevents me from wanting children is the fear of losing them. Those parents probably felt that fear was behind them. And boom. It’s all over and a million times worse. Damn.

I’m confused. At 18:58, the report says the limo owner was charged by the tire company for brake work and parts, but the work was never done. At 21:50, though, it says work on the brakes was done, but the tire company broke a brake line during the service, which a forensic investigator said was a key factor in the crash.

My heart goes out to everyone who lost a loved one that day. I am from the UK 🇬🇧 and i lived and worked in the USA for 5yrs working with polo ponies, and odd that i stayed in a hotel in Amsterdam New York for 6 weeks and the polo ponies were at a place called Hurricane Farm which i believe is no longer there. What i did notice in the USA was the state some of the vehicles were in that were on the roads, parts hanging off them it was shocking to me at the time. Here in the UK 🇬🇧 a car has to go through a mot each year if it does not pass that mot then it's not allowed on the road. And seeing some off the trucks and cars on the road when i lived in the USA and i spent many a day travelling from Upstate New York down the I95 down to West Palm Beach Florida each winter, so i saw so many bad trucks and cars. How more people are not killed because of these cars or trucks is beyond me. You never get over losing a loved one suddenly and losing husbands and wives and children left without their parents just how does one move on from that? I now work for the ambulance service so i see death a lot, but something like this stays with everyone all those that had to respond to the emergency.
