Since its debut, the show has given away more than $250 million in cash and prizes. “The Price is Right” host and comedian Drew Carey joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss the show.

He wasn’t my favorite at first but he really grew on me especially how he is with the contestants.

I was a Showcase-winning contestant last year right before the pandemic. He is truly genuine and nice and just as you see on TV. He truly wants the contestant to win and you could tell he is having a blast every time he’s hosting.

No one will replace Bob Barker as the best. But, I don't blame Drew, he's actually doing a good job. At least, he's been original, he's been himself. Bob said so: "To my successor, don't imitate me, don't imitate nobody", and Drew's actually doing that. And I think that's why "The Price is Right" lasted for many years since Bob's retirement, and still a success.

What a great man ! Watch his first break on Johnny Carson ! Johnny loved Drews act and had Drew sit next to him after his sketch ,no wonder why, Johnny had an eye for real talent .And the rest is history....

It took me maybe a couple years after he started, but Drew really grew on me once he started finding his groove and his own way of hosting. And yes, the contestants are indeed the true stars of the show and thankfully, they (along with the models and other crewmembers) Have become more prominent/gained more exposure and freedom to be themselves throughout Drew's tenure as host. I mean, could you imagine Bob doing specials celebrating Mother's Day, Father's Day, any number of specials in which children participate, breast/prostate cancer survivors, specials in which the contestants are couples, primetime redemption specials, and April Fools' Day special in which the models host and announce while he and Johnny Olsen/Rod Roddy/Rich Fields modeled the prizes? He would've never done any of those, especially that last one, and it's fantastic that Drew has ushered in all those and many, many more.

Drew my grandma knew Bob when he lived in Springfield Mo early in his life. She died in 1997 and never missed an episode. She'd agree you're the perfect host to carry on the legacy of the show.

@@essessessesq As you probably know, Bill Cullen had polio. When he was a guest on game shows that required the celebrity guests to walk onto the set like $20,000 Pyramid, he was never shown walking.

I'm SO AGAINST having male models on The Price is Right, there should be ONLY female models on The Price is Right, with NO EXCEPTIONS, they SHOULD fire the Australian guy James, and bring back some of the original models, like Janice, and Holly, and Kathleen, I think that would be TOTALLY COOL to see them come back

He's an okay host, but the interview isn't exactly good. He seems completely uninterested in his job.
