They just don't make people like George Hertbert Walker Bush any more. He had such heart for service and even when he knew people would be upset about raising taxes, he was willing to compromise. His commitment to Barbara and their over 70 years of marriage was an incredible story of love. Not many people get to experience a l9ng, happy marriage like theirs. He and Barbara will be greatly missed. 😓

I loved this President. I loved his wife. I was a young police officer guarding his railway train election visits. I was on a rural country road blocking the train tracks between Findlay, Ohio and Toledo, Ohio. As the train approached, I thought it was pretty cool. But, what I never expecte to see ... was the President and the 1st Lady sitting on chairs at the rear of the caboose. They were along and waving. I never expected that. Despite critics, I'm a fan of both President H.W and George W. Thank you, Mr. President!

@@J_man247 Let's go back in time here, If anyone remembers the failed rescue attempt of the American hostages in Iran, or 'Operation Eagleclaw' in 1979. That mission was never meant to rescue them, set up by design to fail by Bush and Oliver North. The landing zone was 800 miles from Tehran on the Iranian/Afghanistan border. They used defective choppers pulled from the U.S S. Indepence at sea so that they would crash. There were five C-130 planes to be the support group for the eight Huey helicopters, which is far too many for such a mission. Bush had arranged an exchange of guns-for-drugs with the C.I.A.-contracted opium growers at the border. Another objective of this failed mission was to embarrass Jimmy Carter and destroy his chances at re-election. That's why Bush was called 'Poppy'.

Probably the most popular one term president, Bush 41 reached approval ratings that are and were unprecedented in American history, 89% approval after the First Gulf War, but because of disunity in his own party, because of his decision to put nation over party, he lost his bid for re-election to Bill Clinton, not helped by Ross Perot splitting the Conservative vote. Bush utilised that old TR thesis of "you don't represent your party [when you're president] as much as you represent the people,"

@@robertmoir5695 I'll play devil's advocate in the sense that, could it be because of his brand of Conservatism being different from Ronald Reagan’s that contributed to the crumbling support from within his own party? After all, history has shown that when the party of an incumbent President is split, their chance of reelection is reduced (Theodore Roosevelt in 1912 compromised the incumbent President, William Howard Taft, by running as a third party, siphoning off the progressives from the Republican Party thus opening the door to Woodrow Wilson to become President. Ted Kennedy it could be argued compromised Jimmy Carter in 1980, contributing to Reagan winning by a landslide. Those like Pat Buchanan (who was more of a supporter of Reagan than Bush) challenged George HW Bush in 1992 and third party candidate Ross Perot lured potential support for him away in that same election)

EVIL? Perfect? No. He failed at many things, but he put a lot of good out in the world. To not acknowledge that is hypocritical and rather disgusting. We know evil. True evil, with nothing good to offer. That was not H.W. Never has there been a “perfect” president, but if by now, you don’t know what evil actually looks like, then I am very sorry for you.

Heal? The Republicans gave us his f##king scumbag son, and now The Human Bloodclot. They are beyond redemption, and are the most dangerous threat to our nation. Personally, i think its too late for us, the Bush family has done us in, Trump is just finishing us off.
