You actually made a very critical error on the information you gave about PTFs. I was a PTF for six months before I was converted to a regular and I’ll tell you this. PTF have their own pay category, which is actually higher than a normal regular. The reason for that is because PTFS do not get paid holidays in fact, the increase salary for PTFS hourly earnings is higher in Lieu of not being paid holidays when a PTF works their eight hours for that day they do go into overtime pay but the overtime pay is set at the amount at a city carrier hourly salary. If a PTF works on Sundays they get an additional five dollars hourly for every hour worked on Sunday it’s known as Sunday premium. PTFs are eligible for conversion for full time when slot opens up and they do gain officer seniority among PTFs and are always more senior then a CCA. How this correction gives you a little more insight.

Thanks for the correction. I wasn’t aware PTF got Sunday premium which is suppose to be 25% of your pay.

They usually become full-time regulars ahead of CCAs. PTF always hold more seniority within the office over a CCA .

I’m going to be a new PTF in Indianapolis and start on Monday. I keep reading all over Reddit that PTFs don’t get paid holidays off or any bonus/extra pay for working on holidays, because they start at a higher rate than CCAs. 🤷🏼‍♂️

They do start at a higher rate! And PTF is one step closer to Career than a cca!

When did you do your fingerprints? I went in for prints at the Downtown Indy office on Friday the 27th.... he said it'd take probably over 4 weeks to hear back

@Theangrymailman they're hiring PTF starting out career and the manager that was doing our fingerprints said the group he hired in March just made regular in Oct

@@Indyjumpman22 Took about 10 days after fingerprinting to get the email to come back for orientation downtown. That email gave me two options to come back in either 1 or 3 weeks. Are you working Indy or somewhere else?

Why can't PTFs bid on routes, is the only way they can get a route is by being awarded one? And how does a PTF become an unassigned regular, does each station have a special formula for when they convert ptfs to uars?

PTFs are career employees but without full benefits of a Full time regular. Therefore they cannot bid on routes but they would be converted before CCAs would. And yes there is some sort of equation for the size of the station to have uars. PTFs would be converted to UARS though whenever it’s time to convert but there is no routes open for them.

Greetings from Memphis Tennessee Angry mail man! I have 1 month working as a cca, they did explain us in the academy that once we converted to a carrer my family like my wife and kids will have health insurance as well. Is this true? If so that's awesome!

How does PTO work for PTF's? I just received a conditional offer as a PTF carrier but i have 2 prepaid vacations planned, one towards the end of the yr and one early next yr..im afraid im screwed...
