I definitely agree! I think the most important think is having the humility to get help. And sometimes mental illness isn’t always just a “feeling” or a “thought” and no matter how much bible reading and spiritual direction we get, the illness could still be there. So it’s really important in certain instances to get medical help. And that is IN ADDITION to a strong Christian foundation. Sometimes we as Christians think that mental illness can simply be “prayed” away, but it can be a lot more complicated than that. I had an issue with panic attacks a few years ago even though I was super happy, felt purposeful, enjoyed serving in any way I could, and had a loving church community, these panic attacks sort of popped up from nowhere. Luckily, a couple that I got spiritual direction from, also mentioned that in addition to spiritual direction, there really could be an imbalance in the brain and medical assistance could really help. At a point, the panic attacks hurt so much that I felt like death would be a nice alternative to that pain. But it was not something that I could think away, and thankfully I was telling my parents these thoughts because I definitely did not want to be feeling this. Reluctantly, I finally went to a doctor and got medical help. I was put on a med, which I am still on, and have not had an issue with anxiety and panic attacks ever since! Sometimes God’s miracles can be through the tools and gifts he’s given his created beings with. Hopefully this is something you guys can be more informed about and realize God can also work through mental health professionals to assist and sometimes spiritual direction is not enough to get rid of “suicidal thoughts” “depression” or “anxiety.”

CCF. Glad Churches are opening up that Christians DO experience Depression. that they are also NOT always happy., that it doesn't mean that when you get depressed your faith is weak, immature, not a real Christian. I hope CCF will tackle more on mental health. Lives are being lost

Depression is real. I had also suicidal thoughts before and by the grace of God these thoughts are gone already. Everytime I feel sad and my spirit is so weak i always pray to God to strengthen me. And after praying, my heart is full of joy already.

So blessed to hear this testimony. Praying for you brother in your journey in Christ. Praying for God's word to take over your mind, soul and spirit. Just want to share our on how God delivered our daugther from suicidal thoughts. She was diagnosed to have depression and then bipolar last 2016 to 2017. We went through many things. Among my children, this daughter of mine, was a prayerful. Then one day, our family were shuttered. We are lost and confused. Thank God for church community who was with us through this suffering. Thank God for their prayer support, encouragement and counsels. Truly, it was a great helped. I didn't questioned God all. My daughter was hospitalized. Both me and my husband were really broken before the Lord. I remembered praying this prayer to our heavenly Father, "take this cup but not my will but let your will be done." This is the very prayer of Jesus, when he was in Gethsamane., (Luke 22:42). He was about to face death and he carried the sins of the world with him. Yet, in his human mind, it was painful as his father abandoned him at that moment. Chrsit obedience to the cross torn down the veil of curtains in the temple that many of us now have the rights to be the children of God. GOD was with us no matter what and he let us realised, that his been there too. He feels the pain we went through. I know it was not easy, but he was the one who delivered my daughter and us from any idolatry. Idolatry of self, idolatry of the things of this world. Thank God for the gospel, as it lead us to trust God and his soveregnity in our lives. Christians are not spared of suffering in this world. As in this world are many trouble. God promised us his grace is sufficient for us, for his power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, we will boast all the more gladly about our weaknesses, so that Christ power may rest on us. St. Paul says, "That is why, for Christ sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties.,(2 Cor.12:9-10). sovereign in all his ways. Indeed God is our Healer. Now my girl though still in her meds, God transformed her and our family closer to God. Thanks Ps. Tan-Chi for pointing out how are we designed as believers. Praise the Lord to your ministry. Praying here for both of your ministry and family.

I’ve been there doc. Anxiety and depression hit me hard but praise God he showed me the way and my willingness to obey His will leads me to know Jesus. After I received Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior something miraculous happened to me. I can’t explain. It’s hard to explain pero after I received Jesus may parang nawala na mabigat sa didbdib ko na nag- cocause ng panic attacks eh. Later on sa pag aaral k ng salita ng Dios nalaman k na once you accepted Jesus the Holy Spirit will dwell in you kaya d na mainvade ng evil spirit ang body natin. Oo, once in a while matatakot nila tayo pag hinayaan natin sila pero d nila pwed ioccupy body natin kasi nasa atin na ang Holy Spirit. Walang magaling na doctor na makapagpapgaling ng ganitong sakit kundi si Jesus lang. dahil sa totoo lang pinakamahirap na battle ito dahil kalaban m ang sarili mo. Kahit mag gamot ka andun padin eh. Pero nung tinaggap k si Jesus, He healed me completely😊

I really want to share with you all that my 6 month old puppy really likes to watch Pastor Peter Tan-Chi's videos.. like super. She seriously and surprisingly behaves po talaga, then directly looks at the screen and silently listens. This literally happens every time turn the TV on (and specifically play Pastor Tan-Chi's CCF videos) nakaka-amaze lang kasi how our pet is really interested sa mga preachings!! Like wow...

When I got broken hearted, i just read and read the scriptures that I know will strengthens me. Later on I realised that I need to accept what happened. Acceptance is the word and love God above all things. Human can break.your heart but God doesn't. God bless you all.

I remembered the night I committed suicide. It was two days after Christmas of 2018, I had parties all around, but I just felt like, "Surely, the world will still turn, even if I'm not around anymore." Until this day, I still believe this is true. Coming home from our office Christmas party, my head kept telling me, "Tonight is a perfect night to die." It was supernatural. Like the thought is actual matter, occupying space. Like the angel of death is right beside me, just waiting for time. Actually doing it felt like an out-of-body experience. I'm here because the thoughts still linger sometimes. Maintaning a healthy mental state requires constant work, and sometimes, I wonder if it's worth it. Just watching this to remind me that life is worth fighting for because it is a gift of the God that I love and who loves me.

I love this, this made me realize that JESUS knows what is best for kahit ang hirap ng situation namin...😭😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️

God is Amazing

I felt depressed when my father pass. Im not afraid to die as my father went to rest but iam afraif to self murder which came into my mind 4days ago. When the griefs is overwhelming and the pain runs deeper no human being can help u except God's blessings. Its like a waves of pain and hopes chasing each other and derictly crashed into the shore of your soul. I can't imagine i removed my simcard uninstalled my social media including WhatsApp i leave everything i want it for good. And then i realized i have 3 kids if i die this time their life will be miserable and my father's teaching will be forgotten. I read Romas 8:28. God filled my heart with courage. I realized as long as iam breathing God has plan for me. I read Romans 5:3-4 God give me strength, i endure pain, build my character for my salvation. God is Good all the time. We can't see Him when our life is like a clouds in the sky but we all know that the sun is in there. Just like God have faith in Him. He will hear your deepest sorrow. God bless.
