Cary literally stole the show in the Mortal Kombat 11 story expansion! He had some of the best lines!! I always considered him as an actor to be a gentleman.. Just a really nice guy.. I have to agree .. Cary will always be Shang Tsung.. and Robin will always be Liu Kang.. Both incredible actors and amazing gentlemen!! :)

Cary Hiroyuki Tagawa will always be my Shang Tsung. In MK11 I mained Shang Tsung because I loved his return so much. Anybody else trying to portray that character has some huge shoes to fill. And I have really been enjoying Asian lead films lately and I hope we get more in the future.

CARY IS A VERY CHARISMATIC ACTOR WITH HAND MAGIC VOICE AND CHARACTERISTIC FACE. TOP "VILLAIN" OF THE ASIAN ORIGIN OF THE NINETIES. HIS CREATION YAKUZA IN THE FILM NEAR SON BRUCE LEE WAS AMAZING (REAL BADASS).

Thank you for sharing this interview. I'm from the other side of the world and I'm really happy that I could see these two legends together again after all these years. Maybe I would like to hear more about their lifes, what they're doing, how they spend the time etc. but it's ok. And of course very grateful that Mr. Tagawa is in Mortal Kombat 11 as a Shang Tsung. He has such a great voice, to hear him speak is like caress for the soul. Thanks for everything you did for us! I wish you the best, Liu and Shang Tsung, haha! ;)

Robin and Cary are legends in MK and movies in the 90s in general and early 2000s. It's funny too how Robin always plays the good guy pretty much and Cary the bad guy lol. I always saw Cary as the evil Mr. Miyagi if he ever went to the dark side haha and learned sorcery haha

Great shirt Robin is wearing. Wonderful sitdown interview with both of the of these guys. In terms of Lu Kang my will always be split between Ho Sung Pak and Robin Shou - but like how Johnny Cash basically made "Hurt" his own after covering it, Cary Hiroyuki Tagawa made Shang Tsung his own after his portrayal that character will always belong to him and it's so great to see him reprise that role.
