CCIR Symposium: A Study on the Prevalence of the MecA Gene of Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus in Other Bacterial Species
Rana Taki is a former student scholar at CCIR Future Scholar Programme. She have developed a software that finds optimized gRNAs for CRISPR applications during her stint as an intern at the Yeditepe University Genetics Lab in Turkey.
At CCIR Symposium, Rana Taki talks about the overuse of antibiotics in the 20th century caused the bacteria to evolve antibiotic resistance. Rana discusses her study about the rapid spread of the antibiotic resistance genes, the fatality of bacterial infections such as pneumonia and endocarditis would increase, giving rise to a future epidemic.
