If they want to charge more money for power and water, they will charge you whether you use your appliances or not, and shut them down for good when they want you to buy new ones. A little AI and they can even monitor what is in your fridge or pantry to make sure you are eating whatever they want you to eat at the time. You better be eating your share of tree bark when comes the time!

Those new plans of for forced spending really show how CCP is badly failing at governance. Proper governance = being able to foster happiness & prosperity with minimal intervention. The higher the amount of intervention, the worse the governance because it means the previous layers of intervention failed to produce the desired result so another layer of additional intervention is added. We end up with an increasingly controlling and micromanaging governance style which reduces the freedom in order to maintain the productivity aspect at the detriment of prosperity & happiness. So in a nutshell, CCP sucks hard at ethical, sustainable governance

China's population is 3 times bigger than the US, yet in terms of landmass China is about the same size as America. There isn't enough land available for farming in China, they import a massive amount of food especially from the US. Forget limiting semiconductors, if it comes to war all the US has to do is to stop selling food to China they will be screwed without even a shot being fired. India has a big population so even if they want to keep exporting to China they can only export so much. Russia, North Korea and Iran won't have any excess food to export to China either. I don't think Xi really understands how unprepared China is for a war against the US and it's allies.
