Wow superb information. I was there last year, enroute to alamparai through a village would be nice. But access to this fort is not welcome always as there were series of murders which happened over there because of which police will be there some times restricting. If you go further then the first entrance there will be a pine forest where it will be very quiet. Good to go with 4 members and above, going alone not advisable, taking an umbrella is good on a sunny day as there won't be any shade apart from the pine forest.

அற்புதமான இடம். பல முறை அங்கு சென்றிருக்கிறேன். அதற்கு அருகில்தான் என் மாமியாரின் தோட்டம் இருந்தது. நாள் கணக்கில் அங்கு தங்கும் போது தினமும் செல்வேன். சிறப்பான கட்டமைப்பு கொண்டது. சுவரின் உச்சியில் வெளியில் தெரியாத படி கண்காணிப்பு துளைகள் இருக்கும். அருகில் "மன்னர் குடும்பத்தினரின் சமாதிகள், கோட்டையின் உள்ளே ராணியின் சமாதி, வெளியே தாழம் புதர்கள் அருமையாக இருக்கும்,

I have seen this Alambarai Fort in 1995. It is is in Kadappakam which you have not clearly stated except telling the the distance. between Chennai and Pondicherry.

உங்கள் தகவலுக்கு நன்றி சார். இவ்வளவு பெரிய கோட்டையை இந்தியா போன்ற நாடுகளால் பராமரிப்பது கஷ்டம் அதுவும் அது முகலாய மன்னர்களால் கட்டப்பட்டது இடிந்து நாசமாகட்டும் என்று தான் நினைப்போம். இஸ்லாமியர்கள் 950 வருடங்கள் ஆட்சி அதிகாரம் செய்த சரித்திரமே இங்கே இருக்க கூடாது.

Nice info sir. I am from Pondicherry, residing in chennai. Everytime used to go through ECR to pondy. Only this year seen Alambari, marakkanam was excellent. Is it haunted place? After sunset no one is there. Pathway is narrow and loneliness. In the same way Golgonda, one of the biggest was destroyed, and how it was happened is wonder!

1. Sir, your narration of Alamparai Fort was wonderful. 2. About 20 years back I used to visit this Fort, exactly as you said, I used to sit their about an hour and I liked the calm environment. 3. I used to admire the silent and lucid water of the rivulet ( I did not know that it was the Buckingham canal).. 4. There was no mosquitoes at that period . 5. I also noticed a small buiding by the side of the rivulet having the name of some NGO involving in community welfare. 5. Your narration took me almost two decades back and once again thank you very much Sir.
