For edges, try putting a dab of black castor oil cause if not washing often enough, coconut oil encourages fungal growth which in turn doesnt help edge growth. Can be a bad smell though so hence I said 'a dab'. Hope it helps. Im an RN who had to big chop her locks for the same edge reasons. Working on getting back my edges now over 2 years.

I'm a year 3 and had to switch shampoos to stop my shedding outside the lock. Dont brush your edges. 4vweeks may be too soon for your retight. Keep your hands out your hair so often. Your a going from root to tip. That's the opposite of how we detangle our hair. So smooth your locs then kind of detangle from bottom to top or flip your hair with your head and be really be gentle. ....sorry for the mouth full.
@charminglyrella69095 жыл бұрын
A quick tap tip with the bonnet, turn it inside out. The band has a tendency to irritate your headline/edges. But I totally understand what you mean about putting products on your edges. I feel the same and I hate it
@SunRayBabyJ5 жыл бұрын
Yes it is the band on that one satin bonnet. The band isnt satin so it snags the edges. I had to get a real silk bonnet that was all silk/satin including the elastic @ceceolisa Love your hair!

I completely agree about the money!!! I have sisterlocks now going into my 4th year in April. It was and is worth every dime. I pay $125 every 6 weeks and I feel that is a fair price. I have very thick hair like you and our locs are similar. I have been using Apogee spray conditioner but feel my hair is now a little resistant to it so thanks for the tip on another spray conditioner option. My tip for you on your edges is to use Aloe Vera Gel the pulpee kind at GNC. The back of my hair was doing what your front is doing. Use it two to three times a week and those edges will come back thicker and fuller. Love your videos. Keep them coming!

LOL...my trainer recorded me doing pullups. When he showed me I said, i know it's about the pullup for you but do you see my hair". I'm a year in w/my SLs and since I never see my head from behind, the fullness captivated me LOL. I have to be careful w/my edges as well because I think tying a scarf too tightly is causing issues. And I had the same idea as you, gently wrap the edges first, then wear a bonnet. So I'll see how that goes. Other than that, I'm all good and absolutely LOVE them! And I agree on pricing. I don't share that with anyone and the meticulousness of interlocking warrants the pricing to me as well. AWESOME swimming tip, hon'. The company I work for now has a pool and I was thinking I can't use it w/my SLs. YES!!! I always pineapple at night for that very reason...the volume!! Your locs are lovely.
