Brimming with local culture and character, Golden Hawaii Barbershop has a strong focus on serving traditional haircuts and shaves to Oahu’s diverse community. The shop owner grew up around the corner, and everything in the shop has a connection to the local community.
“We are harkening back to a Golden time when neighbors looked out for one another and took pride in design details, from their ride to their hair.”
The building used to be an appliances and furniture store. You’ll see the original 1950s sign from that shop now hanging inside the barbershop. Cleaned up and repurposed, it now proudly proclaims that Golden Hawaii Barbershop in historic Kaimuki is open for business!
The shop itself is a one of a kind in Hawaii. Everything within the shop reflects a Hawaii of the past, but serving a Hawaii for the future. Fifties and sixties cars and surf memorabilia. A splash of Hawaii skateboarding culture. 1950s family photos and nostalgic vinyl album covers decorate the walls. Awaiting your arrival are original 1950s Koken barber chairs.

Ceejay has been living in Hawaii for 10+ years, finished high school, and attended the University of Hawaii to study Business and Psychology. He began barbering at a very young age and works with such a chilled laid back approach to his trade.
Ceejay says, "I want my customers to feel like family or a close friend. I believe if you have good vibes, we will be friends after sitting in my chair.”
What Ceejay loves the most about barbering and finds rewarding is helping "people look their best and provide a sort of therapeutic experience through conversation.”
