I had a very traumatic childhood, and Olivia was one of the people who helped me to cope even though I didn't know her. Fell in love with her when I noticed her on TV and saw her on the Xanadu album cover. Wrote her name in hearts on my school book covers and folders, and I still have one of those folders. When I lived in a foster home, my biologocal father even bought me a vinyl record single of her song "Magic" when I visited him one weekend because I talked about her so much lol. Part of me died with Olivia when she passed away. From the little boy in me who had a major crush on you, thank you Olivia.

When I was a high school senior I bought her 1975 album "Have You Never Been Mellow," which was my introduction to her. I loved that album. My cousin Ted, who was a freshman at Loyola U. asked if it came with a photo he could have! It didn't so I cut out the photo on the back of the jacket so he could tape it to his dorm wall! Three years later, there was "Grease" and she was amazing in that. Not being a big fan of pop music I had lost track of Olivia over the years. I had heard about her battle with breast cancer and was glad to know she beat it. And she did beat it - for 30 years, which is amazing. I'm only learning now about her causes and her hospital. She was a special human being and though I had lost track over the years I feel the sadness of her loss.

You did a great job on this video and paying tribute to my Shero Olivia Newton John…I was thinking earlier tonight when was the last time did I cry like this for a Celebrity and it was Princess Di came to mind…I remember hearing about the passing of princess Di and even before the media were saying what I believed in her that she was the Queen of Hearts…Our OLJ to my perspective is a Saint and possibly going up to Sainthood…I know friends of mine who know her or family members and they always said she was a guiding light a power house with no bitterness in her heart…I was very little when I saw her in the movie Grease and I loved her then but it was not until 2003 when I was first diagnosed with Breast Cancer that her strength, her Faith and her philanthropy gave me a continued belief that it’s ok if this happens to you and you will beat this…She was a trailblazer for so many in fighting Breast Cancer and to even creating a Wellness Center for those who have cancer is a huge demonstration of who she was…She treated everyone with kindness and like Betty White and Bob Saget…Three iconic people who passed away almost all in the same year…I think it was Dec 31. 2021 we lost Betty and on Jan 2nd 2022 we lost Bob to now losing Sweet Olivia on the 8th of August…I know she will be greeted in heaven with open arms; to which God would say you Did a great job on earth Livy!! I will miss Olivia Newton John being in our world but thankfully we have all of her work as a singer, actor and philanthropist to look back on…Thank you Olivia for being the Angel to us all on Earth and now an Angel in heaven Rest In Peace Livy

In 1982 my 14th birthday present from my parents was to see Olivia's Physical concert at Houston's former Summit Arena. When she performed the song it was with a jump rope. During the instrumental part she kept snagging her foot on it; she then signaled with her hand for the band to stop and said "Ladies and gentlemen I have an announcement...no one can leave the building until I get this right." The audience erupted in laughter and applauded the joke. She was just amazing.

I bet that was sad. Almost two years ago, I found out that Queen Elizabeth II died on my birthday, it almost had me crying. I was sad for the rest of the day. Me parents couldn't believe that she died. And then a month earlier Olivia Newton-John died. I didn't know much about her, but I did (and still do) like her. I kept listening to her song "Physical" over, and over, and over, AND over again. I was pretty much obsessed with her and that song. A few days ago on Sunday, I turned on my TV, and my DVD player, and then put the movie "Grease" on. It was my very first time watching the whole movie. I loved it so much that it had me really hyper for the rest of the day. After I watched the movie, I started learning the words to "Hopelessly Devoted To You". Getting there, but still needs more practice 😁 I know that it was almost two years ago since she passed, but I am still very sad that she did. If she was still alive on Earth today, I would've LOVED to meet her. To be honest, she is SOOOOO beautiful. May she RIP 🪽
