You can always put all the effort you put into meditation into understanding what you’re saying in namaaz. You’ll find a better connection to Allah that way. It’s not supposed to be a farz you are forced to perform after doing everything else. You’re talking to your Creator. Noting is more important than that.

Incorrect words are used by Sanam for namaz .We are neither forced nor. We do it out of fear we perform namaz to be thankful for all the blessings. Eventually one should think twice before talking about the religion.

Oof that’s the problem with kids raised in Muslim countries that they are forced to pray. That incorrect mindset and upbringing has cost us generations unfortunately. Salah is not something you do because it’s fard and forced on you. It’s something you do because you realize your worth in front of Allah as his slave and all that he has given you without even asking.

You guys are getting it all wrong. While some of us pray because it helps us remain calm, many of us do it because we fear the repercussions of not praying. So, as long as you are praying, irrespective of the reason, you should continue it. Sanam belonged to one of those people, and that's commendable.

Sanam, great talk .. 👍 And just one thing to say without sound like a Moral Police that we should try to put the same dedication and focus in the namaz as we try to do while Meditating... It's bit hard ..but if we just understand the translation of Surah e Fatiha and other small duas (Rulh & Sujood) which are 80% of every Namaz .. and then we focus like Meditation... we'll find more peace and calmness..specially if we try in Fajar and Isha prayers (quite times)

sorry to say sanam don't agree with your perception of namaz and meditation difference one can feel same calmness and serenity during prayer instead of meditation even amna wont try to give other view as well but sometimes she is too invested in thr person himself than what they are saying

Omg … sounds like she is me. I was raised like that. That is why other regular things don’t seem important for me. (Others cant digest it esp in-laws). Like why a newly wed bride didn’t care about makeup jwellery heavy dresses why why why…. She should have loaded her self with a label “yes i am a dulhan”. Why she is so casual about every thing. She is not boring , yet so joyful in her own skin. She is behaving like any other person in the family. It took me 10 years to break that taboo. And why i was able to shut it off , because i kept my self persistence. I didnt change myslef. Now everyone realized this is how i am. Love you Kashaf. Im exactly your age. Namaz is in Arabic if we know the translations it is so powerful and calming, but she is right it is an obligation with the strict timeline, and expect you in certain conditions physically, mentally and emotionally, being alert. Prayers, namaz and meditation are all different ways of keeping you compose.
