I was fortunate to meet Shalilji in London nearly 30years ago where he and his wife were performing at a Bengoli gathering and my dance company presented folk dances of GUJRAT his wife sang few good Latajis songs by Shalilji and she had a superb voice too and also the daughter sang one or two songs all to a pre recorded tracks and it was mind blowing experience and after watching your video this morning on whats apps it brought back one of my most memoriable day when I was blessed to meet Saliji who not was a great Artist but also such a humble low key guy. and so friendly towards others around him. he had a special aura around him and that was a very memoriable Saturday evening in summer in London some 30years ago. Once again your video bought such beautiful memories and you guys are so blessed by maa SARASWATI. .

It will be a crime to choose only one of his masterpieces. Truly versatile. His music in malayalam epic Chemmien is too good.

Having been close to Salil Chowdhury and family I have great memories of his varied talents. Music and music instruments of course- - -goes without saying. He had great interest and knowledge of literature, western classical music. In a game of carrom, if he started, we were sure he would clear the board. His car driving skills were astounding. His stories of his 'underground' days we gulped in awe. Above all, his humorous anecdotes had us in splits. A rare mercurial character.

Last Khamaj ta diye sesh korle… video ta sesh hoye gelo but mon ta sei khamaj ei atke ache! Salil Chaudhury was phenomenal! ♥️

Salil Chowdhury, Sabita Di and their daughter Antara stayed the whole day in my house at Vashi, Navi Mumbai during a Saraswati Puja Day. Had a lot of interactions with both Salil Da and Sabita Di. Overwhelming experience for me & my wife Mala. Am otherwise a great Salil Chowdhury fan.....all compositions are out of the world. But one particular song I admire the most is "Raaton Ke Saaye", sung by Lata Mangeshkar for the Hindi Film "Annadata". Haunting tune.
