"over paid" You don't understand how hard it is to acquire a solid career in entertainment, with the ability to sustain income. I don't know what you mean by "over paid", I just see jealousy. My fingers are crossed to have enough gasoline til pay day, but I'll still defend peoples' right to the resources they've acquired. If you consume media, enjoy movies or music(unless youre a hipster who deliberately avoids mainstream art), YOU contribute(along with the rest of the planet) to celebrities' success. I don't watch sports, but I recognize the capacity for revenue and understand the improbability of becoming a professional athlete, so I RESPECT and UNDERSTAND that they have the salary they do for a reason. Celebrities aren't like the corporations who get bailed out by government, their career dies and then it's a wrap unless they engage in entrepreneurship.

Not much? LOL A household needs to have the annual income of at least $389,436 to be considered upper class, according to the Economic Policy Institute. That's much less than 5 mil. We're not talking about how much someone needs to make to make an impact on the economy or what have you, but the use of poor. Someone mentioned that it's relative to other celebs, but I still think it's the wrong choice of words. It's offensive to actual poor people. These people are still way more than comfortable.

DIY Lover 100k per year is not middle class. 2.5 mil over 30 years is an average income of 85 k per year which is also pretty ridiculous. 2.5 was my nice number. The actual median lifetime earnings of american families is just shy of 2mil. Lower middle class. 60k range at peak is about 1.5 mil. And all of this is pre tax. Not even net worth which would take off another 20-30 percent

Quater mil annually is no where near average. To put is simply 22k annually single is out of poverty, 34k with family. 40 k single is middle class, 60k with family. Most of them still earn though. Guestings, appearances, interviews, royalties, endorsements...even if most celebs aren't active anymore, they can still live much better than most ordinary people. And note also these net worths are those declared for tax purposes. Most have assets stashed elsewhere.

Wrong. You need close to a million USD, 750k if you invest it right in third world bonds. You need 1500 USD per month to live a good middle class lifestyle in South East Asia, that´s 18k per year, let´s say that your investments cover inflation, you need 900k for 50 years (until your 70s).
