When stars score leading roles In hit films, or musicians make it big with a series of number-one singles, we typically assume that they set for life.
We like to imagine them spending the remainder of their days enjoying a life of luxury - sipping on fancy mix drinks with little umbrellas on private beaches and cruising around town in their Lambos and Rolls Royces.
These high-profile celebs are showered with praise and admiration by the media and their adoring fan bases. So, it's absolutely shocking when they end up broke, destitute, and unable to cover their bills.
Even the rich and famous can experience financial hardship. Sometimes stars simply fritter away all of their cash while others invest in risky business ventures that ultimately run their bank accounts dry. In this video, we'll be covering the stars who would up broke and living in poverty at the time of their deaths.

Wow. First time I've heard Judy Garland's death referred to as suicide. It was an accidental overdose, so technically NOT suicide, and this video completely ignores the fact that her drug problems began as a child and were perpetrated upon her by the studios. They constantly told her she was fat, put her on a diet of cigarettes and coffee when she filmed the Wizard of Oz. They gave her uppers to get her up and going and then gave her downers so she could sleep at night. The STUDIO did this to her for YEARS. So, even if she did commit suicide, who the hell could blame her? By the time she finally died, she was so deep into an addiction she didn't sign up for, that she saw no way out. Nevertheless, she attempted to persevere through it all.

Her death was an incautious self-overdosage" of barbiturates. This means if she was in her right state of mind at the time she might have thought doing that could kill her. A suicide is when you willingly know it will kill you and do it anyways.

How can I either push 'like' or 'dislike' when referring to hard luck resulting in the death of someone? Just cannot do it, so all I'll say is the video was eye opening at best, informative, and just plain sad. As an RN I am involved with so much hands on suffering, poor choices of patients, and those who wish they'd done the right thing; yet, it's never too late. A lesson in this video screams to all...

The reason so many died from drugs was because when they were children the studios forced them to take Drugs to stay awake and drugs to sleep. When they developed an addiction the studios abandoned them. They were manipulated and taken advantage of by their greedy parents and agents as well. They were victims of Fame and its a shame that it was allowed to happen.

They did it to Judy Garland they had her on speed to lose weight during The Wizard of Oz and would give her valium to put her to sleep for 2 or 3 hours. They worked 24 hours at a time on the set. They had a nurse with her 24/7 making sure she didn't overdose.

During the 1940's & 50's, the maximum income tax rate was over 90%! This forced many actors to move to foreign countries & make films there, leaving that money abroad! The U.S. Gov.'t should never have been able to leave any taxpayer with as little as 10% of their earnings! Yes, many personalities made bad financial decisions but with such onerous taxes, can you blame them for getting into debt?

Barry, the oldest brother, groomed Andy as a solo act, wrote many of his hit songs and the Bee Gees sang backup on many of his hits. A casual listener might think he was part of the group but the group was always Barry and twins Robin and Maurice. Sadly, Barry is the only surviving son.

This goes to show that death is the greatest equalizer - even if these celebs were rich, they would die anyway - drug overdose, alcohol, and depression are the culprits. It’s easy to judge and point fingers - the reality is no one knows what goes on inside someone’s mind. And for those of you who are rich, make sure you enjoy life and use your money wisely and put it in a trust to make sure whatever is left goes to the people you love, so that you can die poor but happy

Judy Garland “Before she finally managed to kill herself she had previously made several suicide attempts.” No! No! No! And she didn’t get into drugs and alcoholism in her later years. She was introduced to drugs when she was a young child by her mother. Her mother had Judy and her 2 older sisters perform a Vaudeville act starting Judy in the act at age 2. I’m not sure when the drug use began but it was well before her teens. Her mother gave her amphetamines to give her the energy to perform and barbiturates to make her sleep. She was a drug addict well before the age of 13 when she signed a contract with MGM and the studio kept feeding her drug habit. She tried to quit the drugs but with no success. Aaaaannnnnddd she did NOT die of an “intentional drug overdose”. It was an accidental drug overdose. BIG DIFFERENCE! Looks like all you want to do is to drag a great talent who had a difficult life through the mud.

The British inquest on Judy found no trace of alcohol or recreational drugs. The coroner concluded that she died from an accidental overdose of the prescription medicines she had become hooked on long before anyone knew they were addictive. The stuff Allied pilots used when flying missions. Judy did self-harm and make it look like suicide attempts, but they were not serious, only the proverbial cries for help. Nobody who knew her thought she was bent on self-destruction. She was a mood-swinging drama queen from a family of theatricals, living for the moment and assuming that her prodigious talents would always snare a paycheck when she or the IRS needed it. Judy Garland was one of the very greatest entertainers of the 20th century, but she fell back after c. 1950 on exploiting her back story to incite sympathy from the wrong sort of admirer: misandrist middle aged women and self-pitying homosexuals greedy for melodrama. Her life became a spiral downhill bc that was what sold to the neurotic fan base who became like a crowd daring an exhibitionist on a window ledge to jump. Garland was more than a poor little victim of her ma, the Studio System, grifting men, whatever. She had considerable resilience, and humor which did not spare herself. Her tragedy was to have been born in a trunk, to have experienced nothing but the hermetic life of a showbiz trouper with a pushy mom from infancy, and to have no standards except the artificial and dangerous conventions of that world. Hence her hopelessness with money and men. She also found it hard to make and keep female friends who could have warned her of the pitfalls of too much adulation too soon. Nor was she a prisoner of MGM. Mayer and his underlings showed patience with her as she threw spanner after spanner into the production machinery. They may have patronized her as a wayward kid who required control, but they stuck with her long after her box office ceased to justify indulgence. It was not Mayer who fired her but the incoming heir apparent, Dore Schary, who had less patience with stars.

@@esmeephillips5888 - She didn’t use illegal drugs. She did misuse prescription drugs. But back in the day people didn’t realize that prescription drugs could be addictive. People thought they were safe because they were prescribed by a doctor. There’s a good Larry King interview with Judy’s daughters Liza Minelli and Lorna Luft where they discuss this.

I don’t know about this one, Facts Verse?!?! So sad and tragic about a lot of or all of these people that you just did this video on!!! I just thought I should watch it, since my husband and I struggle so much, though we do not drink alcohol or do drugs at all or smoke!!! We just have a hard time making ends meet… But thank you very much for that video, I guess. Oh, I did or I have drank alcohol in the past… I was raised around drinking, with my parents doing lots of social drinking, and the rest of my family also… I even did a bit of drugs here and there! I even made a very bad mistake and married a drug pusher, who sold meth amphetamine in Philadelphia, where we lived! He also ended up physically abusing me, cutting me with a straight edge razor, and doing something else very vile, that I do not want to share! Luckily we or I lived right around the corner from a hospital, where I took myself in and was sewn up, with my guts coming out of cuts in my stomach!!! Then young intern who took care of me in the emergency room had four units of blood transfused in to me! One more unit and they said I would’ve been dead!!! I was really being protected!!! And I kept searching for years for the truth!!! I left my home in the suburbs of Philadelphia, where money was people’s God a lot! And I wanted to go really find God or Heavenly Father! I ran with my ex-husband up to Alaska, and he and I ended up getting a divorce… Though I did end up finding Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!!! I ended up getting baptized soon after! It was the best decision I’ve ever made in my life! A lot better than those old decisions that were ruining my life, and almost got me killed! ❤️😀🙏🥰😇🤟😍
