Josh is talented beyond words. Humble and generous. There’s a reason why he’s asked to tattoo celebrities, and fake celebrity tattoos in film. He’s fun to hang around. Throws fun parties at his beautiful shop. You’d want to be friends with him. Top notch fella. You should check out his shop if you’re ever in NYC.

I love seeing an artist who can actually say it should be more about what the client wants on their body than what the artist wants. It may be their art but the client will wear this tatt for life unless they do a cover up or removal so therefore my opinion is the client should walk away absolutely loving the work donee.

becca conrad whilst I completely agree, some things just wont work as a tattoo unless they’re changed- normally it’s just a case of making them bigger, for example, Romeo Lacoste’s tiny tattoos won’t last more than 5 years

"Drawing and designing the tattoo with the customer" amen to that. Most tattooers nowadays are egomaniacs. They say "tell me your idea, show me some references, i'll draw something and show it to you on the day of the tattoo. You don't agree to that, sorry i ain't tattooing you". Fuck that, i'll be sporting that design on me for the rest of my life, so i don't want to be left out of design loop no matter how good the tattooist is or how much i like their work.

Oh man, I just got one just below my collar bone (just outline for now, colour will be done once its healed up) and some spots hurt WAY more than I anticipated. The artist who was doing it was checking up on me and my pain. He was also encouraging by saying "We'll see how you feel after the outline is done but if you wanted to split the session and do the colour/shading another time, its not big deal. I know that its a tough spot". Right before finishing touches he asked if I needed a break. I said yes, went to the bathroom and had a drink. Then he asked how I was feeling at that point. I said i was in a fair amount of pain so he put on lidocaine (numbing) to help with finishing up on some fine lines. Within a few mins and the addition of some cool water, it felt SO much better! That's when I realized i could not get colour that day and that I would have to go back. Otherwise it would've been too much for me. The reason I say this is because after you're sitting in a chair for a few hours in pain, sometimes you really do need another session or 2 in order to finish it off no matter how badly you want to see the final result! Everyone has a pain tolerance, some higher than others but the longer you're in pain the more likely you are to pass out either from pain or hunger or both.

Josh is the man.he has so many useful tips and you can genuinely tell he wants what's best for you and wants you you to be happy with what you want not with what he wants. now i understand when they think the placement is off and suggest possibly moving it I get that but they shouldn't force you out of what you want. I have seen a couple people on here that its their way or the highway and that attitude sucks especially when you are wearing it not them.anyways i really wish I could get something done by him i love his work and the fact that he wants to sit there with you and work together to draw it up how you want that is amazing. and probably my favorite thing is he didn't hit us with the oh ya tipping is a must. I'm a firm believer in tipping but if you are telling me tipping is a must I wouldn't have sat for the tattoo in the first place I think tipping is a result of a couple things.attitude is a big one for me if I am a server and I'm an asshole to you and your family I would be an idiot to think I'm gonna get a good tip after being a dick to you and then trying to get your granny's number so we can knock boots and she sends me on my way with a worthers original anyways the other thing is quality both those things determine how the tipping process is gonna go. Anyways that's just my opinion after the last video I watched where he said tipping is a must and its 20 percent. It angered me and wanted to say this. Anywho Have a good night everybody
