Ezra Stone Tiny problem with that, madeline doesnt canonically die if you do. Super meat boy, however, does indeed die when you mess up, as evidenced by the little horn fight. Splicing deaths together wouldnt make much sense.

Da Zman10 in my opinion it was the game of the year in 2018, One reason you might not like it is that it’s too hard. Well the game was advertised as a hard difficult game. So it’s not Celestes developers’ fault. You need to understand what is made for you and which is not.

@@dizzy_the_dork The OST is one of the best ones out there. Sure, the game isn't without its flaws, but its anxiety radiates how Madeline feels. The story is subtle and simple, but this is a game that doesn't need a huge branching story to show its potential. I dunno. I think it's pretty damn good.

@@dizzy_the_dork Climbing a mountain WOULD make you feel anxious, right? So, the devs made the game anxious. Lena Raine also incorporated that anxiety in her music. I dunno. Good games and media make you feel a lot of things. It might be too much for some people, and that's ok, but I think it's good. Definitely not my favorite game, but for what it is, it's a good game.

It's more like it's embracing indie developers in order to get a bigger offer of games at first stage of the Switch (which is tbh kinda sad so far). And ofc indie devs love retro stuff, in part bc a retro game is usually easier and cheaper to make (let's face it).

But it does pay off. Games like Shovel Knight, Hyper Light Drifter, Undertale, Owlboy, etc. sell immensely well due to the appeal that retro games have.

Same here. I always loved wall jumping levels in Mario Maker so this should be a nice change of pace.

RozyDuskion if you want to try it Google "pico-8." The Devs came up with the concept making a platformer for pico-8 (a cool virtual console) and I'm really excited to see it being made into a full game.

I think it helps that the dev kits for the Switch cost only $450 to buy. In comparison, those of the PS4 cost about $5000.

The Pico 8 version should be included in this game, even if it is as part of a "Completion Bonus" sort of thing. And to be fair, the Pico 8 version is only about 20 really short levels. (Even if most of them are as difficult as Hel)

@@dizzy_the_dork I am a super casual video game player and normally don’t go for the hard stuff. But this game.... I don’t even know how to describe it. For me at least, I felt like it introduces you to the mechanics really well and smoothly. I had no trouble using dashes or anything of the sort. The music and story are also fantastic. Chapter 9 took me 19 hours and I still love it. If it was literally any other game, I would have broken my switch. Either way, we are all entitled to our own opinions. I just don’t think trying to discredit someone’s love of the game is a worthwhile thing to do. Most players will probably enjoy the game and if it’s too hard there is an assist mode. If they buy it and don’t like it, it’s not too expensive anyway.
