You did a great job with the video, killer tone. I loved both of them, though it sounds like the blue is a tad warmer then the jensen, they both have that jangle and chime. If i had the cash id own both of them.

Hi Sebas, one of the important points of speaker quality is the efficiency and Celestion were the first to achieve this higher efficiency that's why the A C 30 was the best in it's day late 60's 70's 100 watt were not heard of; the Beatles got the A C manufacturers to build a 50 watt before they went to the U S A. and stacked them but the screaming women still drowned their sound they could not hear themselves !!

Remove the plastic Bell on the Speaker, it fits fine then!

Both speakers are fine. The cab depth is a bit bigger. This also increases the bottom end you hear in the room, what close mics doesn't take. You can install the older speaker in a bigger cab and hear the difference in the room with the same amp.

Nice one! Thinking about changing speaker or doing the twin stack mod. I have a recent tweed model with Jensen speaker. Sounds nice clean but can get a bit spikey in the mids and haven’t been that happy with the few drive pedals I’ve run through it.

I recently bought some guitar speakers and did a swap: Alnico Blue, G12H30 anniversary, Cannabis Rex, Eminence Legend. My favorite is the G12H30. That sounds great with every amp. Least favorite is the Legend - it sounds good on some amps, not others, and does best with high gain. In a Peavey 6505+ combo, it rolls off the highs - opinion is immature because I need a tube swap on that amp. The alnico blue really sang in a way I never expected from the blues jr - I had a lot of control over feedback. Coulnd't get a clean sound out of it, though. Unfortunately, it does not fit in the cab with the amp, but it was intended for a vintage amp anyway. I put the C Rex in the junior. Was pleasantly surprised by that speaker. Dont' listen to the naysayers - I thought it would be too dark in some amps, but it sounded fine. In the junior, it adds much more functionality to the knob and you have to think of the amp completely differently when dialing it in. Lots of treble for a clean sound, etc.

After you remove the screw from the bell, if the bell sticks just use a hair dryer for about 2 minutes and the bell will come off easily. I did this mod to my Blues Junior and the speaker fit

OMG the same thing happened to me. I got my box (from Sweetwater of course). I had removed the Celestion Seventy 80 that came with my amp. I disassembled the amp and removed the old Celestion and I used my powered screwdriver to mount it. Then I tried to put the amp head back on the combo amp. The KT88 power tube was sticking down into the space that the massive Alnico blue speaker was occupying. My amp has an open back, but the amp head has the tubes. This was last week. My solution was to leave the head separate to try the speaker. But longer term I'm trying to find a 1x12 empty cab. I considered a mod like you did but it isn't that straightforward on the Blackstar Studio 10 KT88.

Both speakers are Alnico, but I can definitly hear the Celestion Blue has much more Mids and Bass. The Jensen still sounds good, but the Blue is a Good upgrade. I tried to put an 50w Eminence Red Fang in my Blues Junior, but that didn't fit either. I have a Cannabis Rex in it now, but if I want to use the Red Fang or any other 8ohm speaker, I just unplug the Cannabis Rex and run a Speaker cable from the Amp out to another cab. I have an 8ohm 2 x 12 cab with a 65w Creamback and Vintage 30. Blues Junior sounds massive through that. All the best from Australia:)

I had the same trouble fitting the Alnico Blue Back by Celestion. Found if I put the amp back at an angle, tilt the top of the amp backward push it in and bingo managed to get the panel back as before. I have the Tweed 3 Blues Junior.

I'm thinking I'm gonna take my speaker wires and solder them to a jack and use the blues jr as a head. I have a seismic 1x12 that is much bigger box than the jr.

Looks like a hot rod with a supercharger in it so you can't close the bonnet anymore. I say that's cool. As long as it's not going to fall apart when you take it out to a gig then no problem

I have 2 blues jr's. and bought 2 from the late 1950'sd JBL D 123 speakers just amazing nothing o n this planet =9EARTYE IS BETTER OR BEATS A JBL) ... I am, Super happy, = it is very shallow and fits in the blues Jr. very nicely and sounds Beyond = Amazing as one would expect, in fact The Main Engineer With JBL Speakers = for years and years = & oh, = years and years has written, Fidelity's

Fender sucks for this pattern of shallow cabinets in most of their amps.It limits the speaker options and for what?Pennies of MDF at the expense of better lows and unlimited speaker choice.I ran my blues Jr through a well broken in Celestion Blue,quite nice,but again - Fender sucks.It's better to buy a better designed amp.
