This is a short video showing the Celestron OAG on an EdgeHD8 with ASIair Plus. The guide cam is a asi174mm mini which is seemingly picking up extremely faint stars for guiding. #Celestron #astronomy #astrophotography

Very nice. I have C8 edge HD, ZWO1600MM, and ZWO 174mm. Isn't the "aggression" value in Guiding a bit high? Are 100%-70% appropriate values?

I'm not 100%V sure. But, as of now, I haven't had a problem with the defaults. Otherwise I would look to change them.

I have a very similar setup. EdgeHD8, Celestron OAG using ASI174 Mono Mini, ASI294MC Pro, CGX Do you have the ASI174 set bin at 2X2. This makes it more sensitive and is better for guiding. Also you can make sure it is set to its highest Gain as well in the PHD2 Brain. Clear Skies

Thanks for the comments! No I do not have the ASI174 set to 2X2. I'm not sure I can do this with the ASIair. Speaking of which; I am using an ASIair and not PHD2.

I'm assuming you are not using a reducer of any kind?
@TelescopeGreg3 ай бұрын
It is the .7 reducer. Why?

I was curious about effective focal length as it’s such a great image you have there. I’ve recently got a C9.25 up and running.

@@mschmalenbach I think it's 1440mm at F/7. Thanks!
