You have a gift for communicating clearly so a newbie like me can understand and experience what you are talking about. I can’t thank you enough!

Thank you for explaining this so well!! I will share this with my students that have a tendency to hold back their full sound potential. Great detail and so easy to follow. I look forward to your next video!

Great talk, I had problems with too much pressure on my bow, it's a negative feedback where the more I don't hear the volume the more I apply pressure to the bow. It'd be great if you can talk about cello angles height, player arm length, because I think it greatly contribute to feeling the back activation more as well.

Hi Peter, thanks for the feedback! Could you explain more about your thoughts the connection between the cello angle/arm length and back activation? Personally I haven't found these things to be an obstacle yet in activating the back, but I'm interested in hearing your experience on it.

I think you've hit on my situation. I'm 64 and have spent too much work time in what I call the Praying Mantis pose...in other words hunched over a computer. When I began playing 20 months ago, it was really tough. The chest muscles are collapsed in while my back is overly lax. I worked with a theraband for a while. Looks like I maybe have to get back to that if I'm to solve my sound problems. Thanks.

What type of Endpin do you use since it has an effect on the color of sound?
@DoublestopMusic2 жыл бұрын
I use something called a Berlin Soundpin, but it's not something that's on the market. I had to order it directly from the maker and have it shipped to the US. Before that I had a carbon fiber endpin.
