I've never had to travel by plane with my cello but if I ever did have to you can bet I will buy two tickets so I can bring my cello with me.

To be fair, 0:32 wasn't a cello fail, rather a piano fail in the vicinity of a cello.

@@sylviarulesbtw maybe no cheese. ppl film the process when they hire a moving service to make sure their stuff is secured and if anything bad happens they have proof. in this case i hope it helped the cellist.

@@geitekop507 yeah it was so weird! The chair was a really light and slippery plastic-ish material (now that I think about it my dress was also a slippery fabric), and I remember sitting too far on the front edge of it so it just shot out behind me. 🥳

I was going to say we should add my brother’s moment to this, when he finished performing with his quartet, immediately got up and started walking off stage with his cello, then remembered he was supposed to bow so he just bent over halfway while walking offstage while his quartet was still behind in their spots-But these were much better.

Happens in the best of families. By the way, get a good insurance policy for the instrument.

Insurance won't help. Musician build strong connection with his instrument and even if everything is compensated - the pain is still there.

@@Georg93 Well, it’s better to be sad and be reimbursed in order to replace your instrument at no detriment to your wallet than it is to be sad and without an instrument at all.

I literally shouted when I saw the two times those cellos were thrown - in the movers' truck and the airport. I play the violin and I can feel how painful and massive cringe seeing those videos. :(

Some airlines doesn't allow instrument to be taken in the cabin, even if you tried to do so they'll take it before you bored, so the case has to be Ultra protected with cushion inside to avoid such disasters

When I was in college I bought a plane ticket to go home for a holiday and was planning to bring my guitar with me (in the same flight). I contacted the airline to ask if I can put my guitar inside the cabin compartment, they said no and said that I should buy another seat for my guitar. So basically, I had to buy 2 seats only to put my guitar in the cabin. Yeah no, the ticket for myself was pricey enough. Better put it in the baggage or send it through a courrier. But one thing for sure, don’t forget to purchase an insurance for your instrument, at least it’s way cheaper than buying another whole human seat 😬

I buy seat for my cello when I fly. I will not risk my cello. Even with insurance, if the damages on the instrument is enough for a total loss. I will not get my personal cello back. I will not risk it. Especially my cello being an Eduard Adler 1891. Nope! I won’t risk it at all.

@@tudor__ if you put the video at 0.25x speed at 0:58, you can see when he throws it the top sort of bends. that means there is most likely no cello inside

Bruh, the string breaking is literally the worst thing that could've happened to me in a concert... But thankfully, I managed to whip out a new bow (that I stuffed in my back, between the coat and shirt, and saved myself from the embarrassment). My coach of course was literally baffled by the sudden bow change but the crowds loved it so I didn't get scolded.

OK, 1st video got a nice round of applause for his string breaking, 3rd one was a great recovery so I wouldn't classify that as a fail. The Flight of the Bumblebee at the end was pretty spectacular so I think the only fail here is the title of this video.
