Oh! My goodness. I heard this decades ago, while studying for graduation, when my main pastime was listening to short Wave radio. After that I am hearing it for the first time now. You can't understand the feelings of a man, who had no idea about what kind of a music it was and liked it just because of the haunting tune, who is lucky enough to hear it after several decades! Thanks.

Last night I danced a Scottish reel to this tune and it will live in my memory forever.

I have every version of this song but this one ! It doesn't exist anywhere but youtube and the actual film, so sad. Amazing piece of music.

Written by a distant cousin...Dougie MacLean....funny how the association with the movie Last of the Mohicans, makes people think that's what this tune is all about, native Americans....but not so...It's entitled "The Gael" which is one who speaks Gaelic, the language of the Irish and Scottish Highland Celts

This is the song that will be played at my funeral. The most beautiful, soul-touching music I've ever been blessed to hear. I hope they play this song in Heaven.
